Just the other day I myself relapsed. It had been nearly a month since I last masturbated to internet pornography; perhaps it was the succulent turkey dinner which did my (little) head in. Either way, I plan on quitting cold turkey again. Always remember: where there's a will, there is a way.

Denial is a river of trouble Willie. Let's admit it. You was fine until Yebsite

BTW there's another way to kick the drugs, but ya gotta take drugs, well drug plants.

That's why I'm heading down to the Amazon in the spring with Tyde.

    There's room

My dad died of a heroin overdose. Be careful, and take care of yourself. I hope you dig yourself out of the hole.

    1. I never believed Willie was even in that main. I thought it was druff talking to me

    2. I'm drinking and only read first sentence of OP. Filled the rest in based on comments.

    3. I offered Willie drugs at his pinacle.

    4. I woulda flaked though or had a bitch do hand off.

    5. I'm drinkin now.

    6. Up 1100 in this game I'm in and they decided to switch to Omaha and it's my best game. I obliged.

    7. I forgot my punchline of this post.

    8. It was good though.

The greatest liars in the world are addicts. To do what you want to do takes some planning, that is if you're trying to live two lives and keep it on the down love. So you're working, meaning you can pay your debts and that's good, if true. But what happened to the methadone program? Why not restart there?

it's very hard to obtain even though i have a prescription (i think suboxone has something to do with this)

and the script i have is for 10mg per day, so even if i can get my script filled it's not nearly enough to prevent me from getting withdrawals

my doctor has been doing me a favor by writing me a script for any amount of methadone (you usually have to go to a clinic), and i will be meeting with him to see if he will up my dosage, but there is no guarantee i will even be able to find a pharmacy that has enough to fill it

i'm trying to get away from methadone completely though, as it's a temporary solution. i don't want to be handcuffed to anything

You got my best wishes kid.

You are fretting about the job. I will offer you my read.

I am a Willie fan so I remember a bit. My read is you work in a sales setting. You like your job so it appears they like you and you are performing ok.

If the boss is a sales guy at heart, I offer the following. Sales guys (especially bosses) deal in favors, relationships & loyalty. They love granting favors and garnering the loyalty that they expect would result.

Most people react favorably to being trusted. Even sales weasels.

Employees who perform well are nearly always less cherished than those who are loyal to me.

If you approach this guy and tell your story and your plan and he supports you - this will go a long way toward your feeling good about life and dealing with your problem.

Give it some thought & decide if you want to play a hand with this guy to the river.

i agree, and think it is likely they would support me, but i still don't want to be "that guy"

i've been so far removed from it for almost a decade and a half, i just don't want that stigma attached to me in a professional setting at my age. i mean, if you told me two years ago i'd be in this spot i would laugh at you cause i'd been there done that and feel so far above it

just really disappointed in myself more than anything

I was thinking just after I pushed submit I shoulda added the obv favor from the boss that we keep this confidential.

Nobody, especially sales guys can keep a secret. One or two others will know. Fuck it. Results will vary, right? But nothing in life is a lock.

I also suck at human resources but I will bet some kinda protection is awarded to you if you come forward. In a larger organization anyway. Non performance is the killer. But that shouldn't be a factor in this play.

In the end, with regard to the boss - and ultimately that is all that matters career-wise - this actually could be a positive career move. You could end up tighter with this guy than the guy in the next cubicle.

Feel pretty strongly about this if we agree your boss is the right guy.

What about AA meetings? Are you using enough that you will have real bad w/d if you don't use for a few days? Maybe start with aa and if that doesn't seem to be working then go to the boss and tell him you need to check in or go to an intensive outpatient program. Do w/e you can to avoid telling the boss or co-workers, id only tell the boss if all other options fail. Let's face it ,if you tell him you're a heroin addict, even if you get sober(which I hope you do ) it will always be in the back of his mind.

Yes, it's hard to not kick yourself but it ultimately it wont make it better so try to drop that.

I have also tried to keep things hidden and did so for some time but lost out in the long run.
If I were you I would keep this close to the vest, meaning telling no employees and very few friends or family. Everyone talks and they also know what's right for you. So maybe just a counsellor.

If you're sure a withdrawal will threaten your job I would get some gear lined up and eventually try to get back on some substitution plan
