I read the other day that large-ish asteroid was due to miss the earth by around 300,000 miles on Halloween... Sort of interesting, but nothing too out of the ordinary really.
Now I read that this asteroid was first detected by NASA only 2 weeks ago... This I found more interesting because always believed every near-earth object large enough to do damage was well accounted for by the various space agencies.
