Is the jump from 80k tier credits to seven star worth the push late in the year?

I'm a few thousand below the 70k tier credit mark. Will easily make 80k and the benefits you receive from that. Is it worth it to push from this point to get to seven star by the end of the year?

Depends what you expect to use of the Seven Stars benefit.

Will you be staying in the free hotel rooms often? Are you already getting free hotel rooms enough for your needs at your current level?

Will you be taking the "free" (actually heavily discounted) cruise?

Will you be using all $500 in free food?

If the answer to the above is "no", then don't bother with Seven Stars. It won't increase your freeplay offers, if that's what you think you'll be shooting for.

Based on your comments not worth it, the big benefit for me would be during next years wsop, if i go out for a month as a seven star I assume I can get much if not all of the rooms compd. Other then that, there's no need for rooms and not much interest in a cruise. So looks like 80k mark is sufficient for me.

Yeah, that's the other problem with Seven Stars which I didn't mention.

You don't get comps for a month simply based upon your card status.

You are guaranteed 4-5 nights straight (depending upon the property and some other circumstances), and then you have to take "2 nights off" before doing another comp booking. That is, you can't even pay for the two nights in between. You have to stay somewhere else for those two nights, and it can't be at another CET property.

Strangely, at the Rio they will give you 5 nights comped through the 800 number, but if you try to ask a host, they will only give you 4 (unless your play justifies more).

So assuming you use the 800 number, if you want to stay at the Rio throughout June and the first 2 nights of July, you would have to book like this:

    June 1-5 Rio COMP
June 6-7 some other property not owned by CET
    June 8-12 Rio COMP
June 13-14 some other property not owned by CET
    June 15-19 Rio COMP
June 20-21 some other property not owned by CET
    June 22-26 Rio COMP
June 27-28 some other property not owned by CET
    June 29-July 2 Rio COMP

So as you can see above, this can be a pain in the ass.

There used to be some shenanigans ways around this, but not anymore.

Again, the most important takeaway here is that your card status has NO EFFECT on your comps, aside from the comps guaranteed by the Seven Stars program.

It is not uncommon that gold card members (bottom tier) get better offers than Seven Stars.

Yea thanks for the info, looks like a real pain. The only alternative I can think of and not sure you can even do this. This would only cover a little less than half a month. For the 40k aspiration level and 80k aspiration level it says you get four complimentary nights for each. Can you book these back to back for 8 days followed by another 4 days for being a seven star? Even if I decide not to make seven star can I book both aspiration offers back to back for 8 straight days?

Nope. CET will never comp you for more than 5 days straight through any of these offers, and you can't back-to-back them anymore.

The only way you get more than 5 days is if a host or someone else in authority intervenes.

By "someone else in authority", I mean someone high at the hotel level if you had some kind of major problem with your stay, where they could stick in those middle 2 nights for free and not affect your next booking. But otherwise, no, it can't be done without a host doing it, which is completely separate from your tier status or computer generated offers.

    Recommend listening to this podcast:

Guest is the owner of 7 stars insider and they talk about all this stuff.

    Listened to this tonight.

Bob Dancer annoys me sometimes. He went rambling on about how hosts can get you "$10,000 to $20,000 worth of value per year", and if they can't, you need a different host.

And he was referring to Caesars properties hosts when he said that.

WTF is that guy talking about??

This is totally untrue. Hosts at CET properties are highly restricted these days regarding what they can offer you, and they are basically tied to your AMT (average marketing theoretical -- basically how much the casino makes on you per day after comps and expenses). So the only way your hosts are getting you anything good is if you're a sick gambler and play at a huge expected loss. (Notice I said EXPECTED loss, not actual loss, as the "expected" or "theoretical" loss is what's important to them.)

Dancer also advises people to ask the host for things after you lose, rather than when you win or break even. Again, that's old school thinking and generally does not work anymore.

You aren't getting $10k or $20k in yearly benefits out of your hosts anymore, unless your theoretical loss is several times that amount.

Anyway, Darryl McEwen is a smart guy and I agree with most of what he said so far in this podcast. However, as I've mentioned before, Darryl is NOT an advantage player or comp whore, so his advice is more informative/procedural rather than telling you how to squeeze the most out of the Total Rewards program.

You can't take anything Bob Dancer says at face value. He's a casino consultant. His experience is not in any way representative of common players. It's frankly repugnant watching the preferential treatment he gets at casinos who pay him to be their hype man.

I lived in comped casino rooms for 8 months last year, moving to a different property every 2-4 days. It wasn't so bad.

I could have earned Seven Star for a $700 expected loss over 100 hours of play but decided to pass. I haven't looked at Caesars game inventory lately but getting 7* from 96 JoB for full tier credits has an expected loss above $1900. Not many players will get $2K in value from 7* benefits.

I guess you don't have an interest in most 7* benefits.

I get far more than $2k value out of it. Between the free rooms (which I otherwise would not qualify for), free internet, the annual trip with $500 food credit, the five $100 dinners (or one $500 dinner if you want), and the highly discounted NCL cruise, I get several thousand in value out of it, not to mention the intangibles such as various priorities/favors that you get out of being Seven Stars.

The hotel rooms I used during WSOP were worth more than $2k by themselves.

That is basically the minimal standard of treatment for someone giving 7* action at any casino. What marginal benefit do you get by choosing Caesars? I'd rather play looser games with some nice promotions once in a while, a host with power to get me whatever I want and a generous welfare package every month sitting in the mailbox.

$2K for 20 nights at Rio is insane. You can rent a nice studio at Palms Place for $2K and not have to check out every 4 days.

The 7* program is appealing to me because they are guaranteed benefits for a fairly long time without me being required to keep playing in order to continue qualifying for them.

If you try to do this anywhere else, you will be comped almost nothing after a few months.

$2k for 20 nights at the Rio averages to $100/night. It's actually more than $2k, as some of the nights are very expensive (often over $200) during busier WSOP times.

The Rio is very very convenient for the WSOP.

Nope. Not possible to get a month anywhere without taking 2-day breaks after 5 days at Caesars properties.

I did stay 12 days straight at the Rio this summer, but that was only because they comped me those 2 "in between" days due to a major maintenance fail.
