There's a shitload to be said for 6 episode seasons, and I think that's finally coming thru over here thanks to Amazon, Netflix et al being willing to fund shows for anywhere from 4-10 episodes at a time. 15-26 episodes of ANYTHING in a year will make the product suffer. Fuckin, Blackadder was like 24 episodes total, over 6, 7 years, not counting XMas episodes. That allowed them to turn out incredibly entertaining historical fiction/comedy with perhaps the most powerful TV series ending I've ever seen.
Yep quality over quantity should win over every time.
Blackadder was just so pure and it's almost impossible to maintain standards when they produce and put out en masse.
Walking Dead and Homeland are two of many examples of that I think.
But while the demand is there they will just keep churning it out.
Finally getting on the ball and watching season 2 of NArcos. Hopefully this will then propel me into Black Mirror and the last season of Peaky Blinders.

Enjoyed Happy Valley, but can't get access to season 2 which is annoying.
Brits are currently raving about a show called 'The Missing' but frustratingly can't get access to that either.
Anybody else throwing recommendations out for shows they've recently binged on?

for new stuff, the siege of jadotville movie was good (it looks like a tv series but its a movie). small group of Irish soldiers sent to Congo as peacekeepers and hilarity ensues....
three french serial killer detective/cold case movies added, Dept Q. pretty good.
I have been eyeing The Killing. Its highly rated, can anyone recommend it?
Enjoyed The Killing but somebody on here recommended swerving the 2nd series, which I did. So if you make it that far, tell us what you think.
Series called 'The Fall' is kinda similar but better imo.
Started on 'Ray Donovan' but didn't make it past the 2nd episode. Same applies for 'Lucifer'. Couldn't be doing with the smart arseness of the lead character.
Another one I did start and currently enjoying is 'Outlander'
Hoping that keeps my interest.
By all means spend hours watching the killing
