Watched The King instead. No complaints. Although we are supposed to believe the main character, who looks about 150 lbs soaking wet, can capably fight wearing full armor when in reality I doubt he could even move with all that weight, takes a little suspension of disbelief.
Y'know, I can never tell with you.

Woke or not, the recreation was of a historic event.

I am sure it was a historic event. Still, if that is how you are starting your series, I am out. If you want to watch it, be my guest, not for me.

I don't watch Trump rallies. I am not watching some woke race violence porn either. I dont agree with all the promotion of divisiveness by the left or the right.

The Devil Next Door. Just binged watched all 5 episodes. Hope I don't have nightmares.

Wont spoil it but that Defense Lawyer looks like an Israeli version of Saul from Better Call Saul. Epitome of a P.O.S.

So I'm in the middle of Season 2 of Insatiable.

I have to admit that the SJWs protesting the show prior to its first season got me to watch it. Otherwise I would have never paid attention to it. It was bashed for fat shaming, but those bashing it didn't understand that the show wasn't really about that, despite what appeared on the trailer.

Oddly, Season 2 is actually much more about fat shaming and eating disorders. They've worked this in between all the killings (both accidental and murders), which they didn't really do in Season 1. This could actually be a "fuck you" to the SJWs who protested it in the first place.

Season 1 was better overall, but Season 2 is still watchable.

I don't know much about the writers/producers behind this show. I saw that Ryan Seacrest is involved somehow, and the creator is female.

However, there's a TON of gay and homoerotic stuff in the show. There was already a lot in Season 1, but Season 2 has kicked the gayness up a notch. There is one lesbian couple also depicted, but that is given little screen time, and it appears very tame and G-rated, whereas the gay stuff hits you in the face repeatedly. I was sure that a gay guy had to be the creator and main executive producer, and it surprised me to see that a woman was the one mostly behind it all. Weird. Unlike other shows, which use every excuse to show hot chicks barely clothed, this show mostly keeps the clothes on the hot chicks, but we see tons of shirtless underwear shots of muscular dudes.

Netflix is also looking to find a way to crack down on account sharing.

    https://www.newsweek.com/netflix-pas...r-2019-1466711

Basically some study revealed that 10% of Netflix watchers aren't living in the household paying the bills -- a number which I actually think is low, given what I assume to be a lot of kids going on their parents' Netflix account after moving out.

Netflix is actually enabling this sharing by selling accounts which allow two screen to be streamed simultaneously, as well as premium accounts which can stream four simultaneously. One stream is $9, two stream maximum is $13, and four stream maximum is $16, so you see what happens here. A family member buys a premium Netflix subscription for $16, then hands it off to 3 other family members or friends who don't live with them, and that saves $20 overall. Doesn't take a genius to do that.

At the moment, Netflix is taking no action, but they're considering banning accounts who seem to be abusing account sharing. However, this might be difficult to determine, as people could have legitimate reasons for streaming from two different IPs, such as watching from work, on mobile, or at second homes.

The Irishman is likely worth a watch. Senior citizens playing mobsters. DeNiro, Pacino, Pesci under Scorcese.

Next month Vikings, Expanse and Witcher.

Not looking to make a Disney Plus thread, but The Mandalorian is some real cool Star Wars world stuff. Werner Herzog is the best, obv, but even the most jaded of fans can't resist gizmo Yoda. Got the weird Star Wars humor of the originals, the gritty, dirty tech of the past/future, all the new stuff fits in with the old stuff, etc.

I liked the last 2 trilogy films when I saw them in 3d, because they were visually incredible, but had no emotional attachment to the films, and was disappointed otherwise. This show is more like Rogue One to me, where I feel like the spirit of the original trilogy is front and center, there's no jackass JarJar, the effects are there to further the story instead of "just because we can," the shiny bullshit has given way again to the dirty post-Empire reality of theft and lawlessness.

Good fuckin show. Maybe Great fuckin show.

I watched the first hour or so last night and am watching the rest as we speak. Pretty good stuff so far.

During the months after the movie announcement right up to the launch date, I was frankly a little leery about the whole CGI aspect and had fairly low expectations that this film would make the cut - even despite the fact that it was a Scorsese film.

That being said, so far I am pleasantly surprised...scratch that - very surprised at how well everything turned out.

It was ok. Had to look at some point how old the cast was. Mostly born in the 40s. It was kinda weird seeing them all together likely for the last time.

Agree. I was hoping for better but it was still enjoyable. Did have the feel of Old Timers Day at Fenway.

Didn't even recognize Harvey Keitel at age 80.

Steve Van Zandt as Jerry Vale was an interesting choice.

I didn't get all the hype. I was so stoked when this was announced, like 2 or 3 years ago, and I just don't feel like it lived up to its expectations.

I thought Joe Pesci and Al Pacino were great, DeNiro phoned it in though, and that fight scene in the deli was just cringe.

The entire final 30 minutes were unnecessary, and could have wrapped up in about 5.

Overall, did love the cast, and it was a nice swan song for all these actors to go out on, but in all honesty, I feel like this was a C+/B- at best. Enjoyable, but easily a distant 5th to Goodfellas, Casino, Mean Streets, and even The Departed.

That being said, I've already watched it 3 times now.

Shout outs to my boy Herc as Fat Tony Salerno. Straight unrecognizable.

The last straw for me was when Maniscalco appeared. Hard to ruin a good story with great actors but as mentioned they were all past expiration date and that proved too distracting.

The Irishman is amazing - I would have been ready to criticize if it was just trodding over the same themes but it was spectacular. The de-aging stuff was the only bad thing but fuck it.

Late Scorsese has been mostly fire.

Fair enough. I dont watch rallies of any nature, either, for what its it's worth.

Perhaps because I'm a fan of this world, I couldnt help but stick with it, and every episode has been exceptional.

    Squid, blue penis, check, check.

Has anyone else been watcing Watchmen?

Apparently, Netflix has a movie featuring Jesus as a gay man.

Just in time for Christmas, goy!!!

And then one day, for no reason at all, the German people elected Hitler.

Saw “Dolemite is My Name” yesterday and loves it. One scene had me laughing so hard, I nearly blacked out for lack of oxygen.
