You have a point. I fired it off quick before I departed for work, some of us dont have all day to spend on the interwebz. Oddly, I feel a little better about myself now that I too have had a little of your venom directed my way.

I find this hard to believe actually, I guess if the guy was almost blackout drunk it could happen but I still am wondering how. If you have ever bench pressed you know that you simply tilt the bar to one side and it will slide off. Meaning you don't try to push it straight up if you are in trouble you either roll it down towards your legs or you try and tilt it to one side off of you. You would think the struggling alone would cause the bar to tilt unless this guy is throwing up some serious weight.

If you drop it quickly and there is much weight involved, it would be all over but the crying. Blunt force trauma with 300 lbs directly on your heart can kill.

Maybe he was behind on his rent. The landlord takes him out gets him trashed then they go back to his house. The landlord bets him his rent that he can't bench 300 lbs. The guy starts to bench it and the landlord who agreed to "spot" him decides to push his weight on the bar instead. after the guy is dead he goes home. He wakes up in the AM and goes to "discover" the body... Kinda a perfect murder plot the only signs of struggle would be consistent with the man trying to push the weight off himself. It's not like he could let go of that much weight to try grabbing at his attacker.
