I dub the 1st Monday of the Month - Benevolent Monday

I had the idea of donating a portion of my winnings one day a month. So, on the first Monday of every month I will be donating 20% of whatever I win that day in poker to some charitable organization. Since I don't have any particularly strong feelings towards any one charity, I will let you all pick the charity I donate to every month. Just post a charity that you like with a link to their website and I will chose one the weekend before the first Monday of the month.

I typically play 5/10 and a normal swing would be in the $1k-$2k range, although I have had as much as $8k swings in these games. After my session I will post my results and a screenshot of my receipt to the charity of your choosing. If I have a losing session, nothing will be donated, but on the next month's Monday I will donate 5% more. So if I lose on the 1st Monday in June, I will donate 25% on July's first Monday. And if I lose again, I'll donate 30% of my August winnings. I will start doing this on Monday, June 4th. If for some reason I can't play on the 1st Monday of the month, I will do this for the next session I play.

I would love for this to catch on in the poker community, so feel free to join me, even if you want to donate a smaller percentage of your winnings like 5%.

I've seen them help out soldiers in times of need. In fact when the government shutdown started they were going to pay us our salaries.

They work to improve the quality of life for kids who have 22q deletion syndrome.

One of the guys who plays in the Filthy Limper free rolls and listens to the shows has a daughter who has this affliction and this organization does amazing things.

I plan on pledging 5% of the WSOP Main Event to this charity and I hope everyone takes a look at it and decides to add it to their charitable rotation.
