Funny but probably accurate review for new "Pixels" movie starring Adam Sandler

For those of you that don't know, "Pixels" is a new Adam Sandler about '80s video game characters coming to life.

On the surface, this seems like a movie I would really enjoy. I am really into the 1980s, and I love '80s video games even more.

But this movie looks like it has fail written all over it, and basically mixes expensive special effects with uninspiring references to these old games (and other '80s stuff), without at all attempting to cleverly work them into the plot.

Simply put, they are counting on people to enjoy the movie just because they say, "Hey, I remember that!"

So far almost everyone hates it. The movie officially launches Friday.

Looks like a Ghostbusters remake with better graphics. Same plot, different bad guys. Funny how Hollywood spends millions on special effects, but will cut corners on the screen play. Here's an idea, start with a good story and then embellish it with state of the art CGIs.

CGI and special effects should compliment and accentuate a movie, not dominate it.

I mean seriously, why even bother with human actors anymore ?

90% of the movies that Hollywood has been cranking out lately are complete garbage

I enjoy Will Leitch on movies. Obviously, not a favorable review.

But when was the last time anyone willingly went to an Adam Sandler movie? The guy has totally given up caring what ends up on the screen. I went to see Click in 2006, but only because it wasn't my turn to pick. I'm at 9 years without paying for an Adam Sandler movie and it's a mortal lock that I will never go to another. I'm baffled that he continues to make enough money on these movies to get his shit produced over and over.

By the way, for some insane reason, Netflix signed Sandler to an exclusive 4-movie deal.

Apparently the first one in production is so infantile and racist that a bunch of actors quit. The premise also sounds completely retarded, like a 12 year old wrote it in a weekend.

The critics also said The Interview was horrible but I laughed my ass off watching it. The critics tore down Hot Tub Time Machine 2 but I laughed my ass off. I don't put much faith in those people. I'll download it and watch it for free like I've done for almost every movie I've watched the last 3 or 4 years.
