The Orleans Bad Beat Jackpot is it even worth it?

I am still ROFL laughing at this not because its the Orleans and epic tales from everyone can be told about this place. The Bad Beat Jackpot s finally at the 100,000 mark so now every bottom feeder in the world has darted there. I persoanlly dont understand it and is it REALLY even worth it to sit there for hours and hours to get about a $151.00 table share?

Yeah sure loser will get 40,000 and the winner of the hand 30,000 but to me I will not and can never see sitting there. The lists have almost rivaled the WSOP for the past 5 days with at one point last night over 260 people on the 2/4 limit list.

When you open the room in the BRAVO poker app the real LOL begins with this statement!

ATTN: PHONE INS FOR THE HOLD'EM WAIT LISTS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING, AND WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

Right now though they have a maximum of 23 cash tables they can open with 13 tables UNAVAILABLE due to the fact they have no drop boxes for rake! They are currently at 19 cash games with ready for it.....77 on the 2/4 and 44 on the 4/8 list!

I am really curious whats the average rake you are paying for a 6 hour session in a 2/4 game!

without getting overly 4'ish there is an established math formulae for deciding at what point it becomes +EV to hunt a BBJP, so its not surprising to see this happen considering how every loose dollar has long ago been hunted to extinction.

how did you arrive at the $151.00 number btw? did you misplace a decimal? IIRC standard BBJP payouts are like 50% to losing hand, 25% to winner, 25% among table usually, which is something like $3500 per player. is the orleans doing something weird like giving the 25% to the whole poker room?

I am pretty sure it's 40% to losing hand, 30% losing hand and the rest of the room NOT the table shares the remaining 30%.
    Let's say it's at 102,000 now ...
Right now they have 17 tables at 10 players each....that's about $176.00 each player.

$100k? That's not really all that much of the qualification is quad 8-10's beaten with both cards used. That's usually in the $300-$400k area before that gets hit.

I'm guessing this is Aces full of Jacks or something

Was playing at Rivers/Pittsburgh last week. It's over $330k. I never pay much attention to it, but its lowered to quad 4s as losing hand. That's as low as it goes. Guy at my table had quad 6s over a short stack that needed a 5s on river. Must have been holding As2s, I can't recall. 5c hit river, table went crazy. I wasn't even paying attention until table reacted as I was listening to podcast. They said table share would have been $13k. Like 100k and 70k to players involved. We were 6 or 7 handed. You got to be smooth like Willie to pull that, and let's face it, we aren't that smooth

I had my chance twice..... Never to be. Flopped K high st8 flush vs a set of jacks at Foxwoods... Brick brick $380k. Few years later I had A-Kc on a J-10-2c board... He had 9-8c. Qc was a $295K card for us.

    Not that lucky.

LOL must be a zoo over there with smoke pouring over the rail. The Bravo is overwhelmed and simply will not even say how many bottom feeders are waiting to play.

132 last time I checked. LOL!

Don't know why people are so up in arms about a 100k bad beat jackpot. Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh's bad beat is like 350k right now and they're not even experiencing what you're describing.

BCR beat me to it, didn't even notice.

When Caesars AC had these conditions for the bad beat jackpot a few years ago, the average jackpot over a two-year period was about $120,000, hitting about once a month.

There are most likely more degens in Vegas than Pittsburgh who probably are needing a room share of that jackpot to pay next week's rent at one of those divey rent-by-the-week motels.

I can't imagine the accounting on this. It packs the house and it must generate a crazy amount of rake but when it hits it must be a nightmare. 2 am? Can you imagine being ready to go home and that hits? Fuck that.
