    The 2016 Heisman trophy thread

That can place bets on the Heisman trophy?

I'm looking to get action down on a few select players and I'm either cut off of futures bets or at the limit on my accounts.

PM me if you are interested in helping. I'll make it worth it.

    Thanks

Nitrogen sports has what you are looking for. It is however a bitcoin sportsbook I can attest they are top notch. Dunno if you are cut off there though.

The ND QB that transferred is a sleeper. Although the freakish QB for Ohio State probably is the fav.

Special thanks to Simdog for booking some action for me!

And for the record I just bought Simdog a $25 CAD freeroll.

    Who else wants in?

Hope you bet on Ezekial Elliott. Pretty sure he'll go over 2k yards. Blowouts are the only thing that could cost him. The QB situation is too hard to predict. Notice Im just assuming you bet a Buckeye. Anything else is just burning money.

You probably shouldn't post paypal gambling receipts online. Its all the ammo they need to torpedo your druff's account.

Likely? Maybe not, but still. its paypal and they do shit like that.

    Ha - you are close.

ESPN's Travis Haney reports that Ohio State's quarterback job is J.T. Barrett's to lose. Haney cites the coaches being impressed by Barrett's "off the charts leadership".

1000/31500 on JT Barrett to win the Heisman.

I had some arguments on this one especially with some people who know college football (Chinamaniac being one of them). The situation is crowded. Miller was promised something to come back and most pundits this Jones is the better NFL prospect. All that being said if JT gets the starts and the bulk of the snaps 30/33 -1 is a fucking great deal.

This prop is already down to 12-1 at Bovada and 20-1 at sportsbook.ag. There are some shops who have it in the 30's. I cant guarantee a win but I do think it's a great bet.

Obviously I hope you win because it bodes well for my team. My main issue, besides the starting position technically in flux, is that all the QBs amongst the leaders run a ton. Boykin rushes for 50 per game, JT or Barrett more than that, I wouldn't bet Prescott because record matters and they can easily be a 7-6 team.

Elliott is durable as hell, and if you look at his season splits, kept getting stronger last year as the schedule got rougher. Urban, by default, would rather run than pass, and if he goes with JT or Barrett, they're just super susceptible to missing a month, and it's not like he has to be cautious and protect them as they have two backups that are as good or better. That spread option just leaves QBs on an island often.

I don't doubt your info is accurate, even though I've heard different in Ohio State circles as of a few weeks ago. JT is the safest bet as he's the best run/pass balance, is the smartest decision maker of the three, and just a poised kid. But he's also not likely to transfer or go pro after the year. I cant imagine why Braxton came back. To me, he's the clear 3 on the team and the clear 3 in the nation which is crazy, so a promise of some sort is an understandable fear for your bet, and as a Buckeye fan. Personally, I'd start Cardale with a quick hook because it stretches the field vertically and he's mobile in a bruising Tebow-esque way.

I just think Ezekiel is the safest bet. Clear starter and I think pretty likely to rack up 2,000 yards. But +3150 is great odds if JT does indeed get the job. I'd just think there are so many variables between injury, quick hook, Urban mixing things up and getting all 3 a ton of snaps in a number of probable blowouts, etc

Just deleted a multi-paragraph part of my post because it was too descriptive with a college job and gambling, but I have a lifelong friend intimate to the program. Had I known you could get down a 1k Heisman Prop, I'd have called him this past week. He doesn't get a definitive answer from the coaches, but he's around the program every day and usually is on point. I never mention gambling with him, but he knows me. I'll try him this weekend and pm you if he's feels strongly either way. Not that it matters much at this point with bet made other than you can hedge if something else breaks.

Either way, good luck. If he gets the job, you are probably a coinflip at +3150 if a Buckeye wins it, which I think happens. When I looked at others on list, other than Boykin, I'm not confident any of their teams can win enough games. Chubb and Fournette are great, but probably 3 or 4 loss teams in SEC.

I don't doubt 25:17 will be a beast this year as he was at the end of last year. Thing is with these awards there is a HUGE QB bias. At 5-1 the odds just aren't there to bet him. I could see him running for 2,000 and 20 and having Kessler or Boykin win with video game QB numbers because USC/TCU also makes the playoffs.

Anyway.... the odds are the story here. If he gets the job he is 10-1 at absolute worst.

Agree. I saw Elliott at 7/1 on front page, but even though I think he's favorite, I'd rather have your bet at 31.5/1 than Elliott at 5/1. I don't want anyone at 5/1.

Phill Steele came out and said JT wins the job and ties Ohio St to the playoffs.

    Hope he is right.

I always feel hesitant about making these type of long term bets on sites like Sportsbook, I am always afraid that they will go under before the time frame of the bet is over.

Are you currently able to get money off sportsbook?

Sportsbook.ag is going about 3 months on payments right now. They have always paid in the 10+ years I've used them. At the worst they were 4-5 months.

That said this action isn't on sportsbook.

Braxton officially moving to H back. It's down to JT vs CJ.

Odds have crashed on JT - 8-1 at sportsbook.ag and 9-1 at Bovada. There are still a few local shops and small online books that are 20-1 and better.

Last call for alcohol on this bet at great odds. I'm guessing they will all be 10-1 or worse by tomorrow.

Really happy about this development. Thought of your bet when I heard the news. Usually kids have to be dragged out of that QB gig even when everyone else knows switching spots is more pragmatic for NFL future. Glad Braxton is taking the long view, and no doubt helping team chemistry by not forcing the issue.

You got monster value at that number. Basically, as long as Urban doesn't go Tebow/Leak style rotation, it probably should be like 5/1. Braxton/Zeke run basically stride for stride for fastest player on team. Going to be extraordinary athletes on the field in many sets. Really interested to see how it's implemented with Brax at H-back.

I talked to my buddy last Sunday. He said he didn't know for sure, but that the entire staff is increasingly advanced metrics centric, so I assumed that boded well for your bet, as JT is clearly the most efficient dual threat.
