    Is Bovada poker down?

I can log into the main website but the poker part doesn't work for me.

Took a break from Bovada for the past 3 weeks or so because I got burnt out on it. I was actually on a winning streak, but was just burnt out.

    Now it doesn't work.

Please try it yourself and tell me what you get.

    This is incredibly weak.

I just uninstalled and reinstalled, and same BS.

I wonder WTF is wrong. I remember years ago their software had issues, tech support was clueless, and I had to diagnose and fix it myself (turned out Javascript got unregistered on my computer somehow). I hope this isn't another one of those situations.

Maybe it has to do with playing from Nevada? After all, this is an unlicensed poker site and everything..

    Working perfectly for me..

    Not in Nevada right now.

Apparently this is an ongoing problem they're having, involving DNS.

They had me change my DNS to the google 8.8.8.8 server, and it works now.

They are "working on the issue" in the meantime.

They also didn't tell me it was the google DNS server. They claimed the 8.8.8.8 belonged to them.

I looked it up afterwards and felt better about it. I don't trust Bovada to serve my DNS.

Also, thanks to resetting the software, I didn't realize that the 30-60 game I saw was O8, and accidentally sat.

So if you were playing there, and a fish played 1 round and left, that was me.

At least I scooped the final pot.

Rumor was at a final table of a MTT they had two queen of clubs come out so the froze everyone who wasn't logged in out until they resolved the issue.

How are you guys depositing on Bovada? I can't find any international prepaid cards that will get accepted.

Your other options as an American are to get a Netspend prepaid card which you pay some additional fees on that you can pickup at several locations throughout the country just google netspend to find out where or maybe moneygram depending on your location.

Bovada would be killer if they accept Bitcoin payments and withdrawals. Just sayin. It would take players away from WPN.

I have a nets pend card that I got for the sole purpose of getting $ on Bovada, my netspend deposits always get denied and when I talk to netspend they told me they don't allow transactions from the Philippines.

    Any other ideas?

C'mon Druff. For someone who used to be a computer geek, how can you not have 8.8.8.8 as your DNS server (or at least a backup one)?

Not really sure what else will work and normally netspend has a great success rate. You can call Bovada and ask what they recommend but the answer you will most likely get will be netspend or a prepaid debit card that accepts international transactions which if you go read the back of them many won't say if they do or not so you take the risk.

For a site as big as Bovada they are a pain to get money onto right now which is a joke because it's no problem depositing on sites like ACR/BCP, 5dimes, Bet Online,etc... If people can't get money onto a site with ease they won't bother or will go to a different place that will be easier for them yet Bovada don't seem to care about this.

My guess is come NFL season they might add more deposit options.

As for bitcoin yes it would be nice to move money back and forth that way but many sites just don't want to do this for various reasons but the biggest one is if they allow people to deposit that way they have to allow them to cashout as well and for how quick things can be done maybe they don't want to send the money so quickly out to pay players but will take a lot of shit for it if bitcoin is an option because of how fast shipping the money out can be done. I'm not going to speak about Bovada in general since they have the money to do bitcoin freely at all times if they want but this is why a site that can't pay Americans more then like $15k a year like Carbon Poker (unless you are one of the lucky ones) won't add the option.

one of their many, many , many updates would not take for me around the same time. I emailed them and they replied with this. I followed the instructions and it worked right away without so much as a restart.

The following steps to change your DNS settings should resolve this issue.

If using a Windows PC, please follow the steps below:

    1. Go to the Start Menu and click ‘Control Panel’.
    2. In the Windows Control Panel, under ‘Network and Internet’, click ‘View network status and tasks’.
    3. Click the link next to Connections on the right. If you're using a wired connection the link is called ‘Local Area Connection’. If you're using wireless connection or WiFi the link will be named differently.
    4. On the connection status window, click ‘Properties’.
    5. Select the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) item, and click the ‘Properties’ button.
    6. Select Use the following DNS servers addresses, and enter:
    • Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
    • Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4
    7. Finally click ‘OK’ in this and the previous windows to save your changes.

If using a Mac, please follow the steps below:

    1. Open ‘System Preferences’.
    2. Double-click the ‘Network’ icon.
    3. Double-click the connection you want to change DNS for. The connection you're using now will have a green light next to it.
    4. On the connection properties window, click the 'DNS' tab.
    5. Use the + or - symbols to add or remove the DNS servers your connection uses. Servers will be used in the order they are shown in this list.
    6. We recommend using the following server addresses:
    • 8.8.8.8
    • 8.8.4.4
    7. When you've finished, click ‘OK’.

If you continue to experience the same issue, or would like us to walk you through the process, give us a call at 1-866-909-2237 and we'll be happy to help.

Dude pretty much all my visa's work there (wells fargo, B of A, etc) I think I've even used a mastercard before and it worked too. Never had to do any sketchy prepaids, try your normal visa and call them if it gets denied. Fuck netspend obv.
