A little nonplussed frankly, I'm usually not a fan of non-ending endings, but overall a fine film IMO.

Wished they would have showed him getting torn apart by those wolves at the end though.
There was never an all out fight-to-the-death wolves battle.

Not that you wouldn't be content without it.
From my limited knowledge of wolves, if you kill the leader of the pack they just disband and form other factions. In any event, I missed this and probably 90% of those who watched it missed it. Kudos to Roger Ebert.
