How can you not love a guy like that? He was the everyman's wrestler. He wasn't jacked to the gills with roids like Hogan and he wasn't the pretty boy like Flair. He was the plumber's son that you would have a beer with if you met his at a bar.

Guy was morbidly obese for over half a century and still loved to age 69. I'd say that's pretty good.

Grew up watching him. I heard him on the radio a while back and was surprised to hear how hispanic he sounded. No idea his background, but he has to be at least partially hispanic based on what I heard.

Freddie Miller, who co-hosted GCW along with Gordon Solie, played a lot of poker around Atlanta in the early 80's. His "Don't miss it, Beeeee Therrrreeee" was pretty iconic in the hick-south back in the day.

The old NWA had a great cast of characters and the guys dying off makes me feel pretty fucking old.
