    Any help on a cruise?

I bought a cruise that departs in August 2015. I have a balcony. I purchased it in March. 2 people total, fiancé and me.

So I decided to see today what a suite cost and it was way too expensive, like 2K more so I passed.

So I decided to torture myself and reprice the cruise I bought 90s days ago. For two people it was $250 less PP today!

    That is $500 bucks.

So the cruise I booked in March was $500 more than today. When I called, I was put on hold for a long time and I just hung up.

    Am I just fucked here?

Yes, you cancel and rebook the cancelation fee will eat up any savings. I never liked booking 6 months in advance for this reason or life happens issues, also, I may be in the minority but I make the best deal I can at the time and just don't sweat price fluctuations after I buy or book things. I guess it would not hurt to call them and pull the your pissed card. They might throw you an upgrade, bottle of Champagne or the like...good luck

Good point. It made sense at the time to book when I did, but the fucking prices just collapsed all of a sudden. Kinda sucks paying $500 bucks more than someone else, but not much I can do here I suppose.

For someone like yourself with 200k liquid cash, these trivial amounts of money shouldn't matter.

You're going to be fucked pretty much everywhere. Get used to that.
Re; the cruise debacle, consider it a gift from above. Cruises are the biggest tourist trap, literally, that you can find.

Unless you enjoy watching overweight people in a "free food" environment at any waking hour then cut bait.

Demand the upgrade to the suite you wanted. Maybe be willing to pay a little extra for it.

Make sure they know who they're dealing with here.

You'll probably offset their losses with liquor consumption within two nights.

Right up until they give the last call for escape via lifeboat.

P.S. Just thinking about turning lemons into lemonade.

Just change the thread title to "Your Help on any Cruise"

with Tony Mahoney or whateva, and use your

non-eating minutes to capture other patrons inhaling

in an efficient manor. Let's just leave it at that.

    Any strain ideas?

Just in case this is real, you can cancel and rebook with no penalty up to 75 days before the cruise date on most lines.

And between 56-75 days, you only lose your (usually small) deposit.

    Which line is it?

    "In case this is real"

Druff is right. You should be able to call and cancel/rebook. Even if you are within 75 days you should be able to cancel/rebook for less then the $500 swing in price. So the answer is no you are not fucked, get on the phone.

And generally speaking you only book a cruise that early in specific situations.

    1. If it's a new ship early in its run
    2. If it's during school vacation
    3. You want a specific cabin with limited availability (like aft suites)
    4. If it's a exotic cruise with an itinerary they haven't run before (Florida to Cali around South America sold out for 4 years running)

Other then these examples you wait till you are 90ish days out. Generic carabean cruises are like cars. They start off at X and they quickly move to break even price the closer you get to sail date.

NCL. I got a half way settlement with them today, which I get. They at least met me half way.

I see some of the comments here in this thread on basically an innocuous post. Positively LOL. Plumber Jokes, Raging Alcoholic, Broke, Etc... All because I won't post pictures to get some type of a reaction from an audience I have no desire to meet in person. I would have posted some the last couple years, but because some people are so angered by my not posting details, I prefer just to tilt them to infinity just to tilt them. It amuses me.

I have said since 2008, I have no desire to meet anyone on the forums. It's not something I care to do. I am in a period of my life where I want maybe 3 or 4 friends at the most. Nothing more, and none will be from online poker forums. Ever. I have no desire to get validation from a bunch of strangers I will never meet.

If you want to think I clean toilets all day and drink a liter of Vodka all night go right ahead. I battled the sauce like 7 years ago, well behind me. Get a fucking life and keep worshiping Jewdonk.
