Honestly one of the weirdest incidents I've had with a computer.
The bed at the Rio is about 2 feet high. I accidentally knocked my laptop (while open) off the bed, and it came slamming down on the hard floor. I thought there was a fair chance that it was toast, which would have been very frustrating just as I was beginning my trip here.
I turned it on and breathed a sign of relief that it still worked and nothing seemed damaged.
But I noticed something else.
About a year ago, the exterior of the laptop developed and issue and "separated" from the rest of the computer, kind of right above the keyboard. The laptop was still very usable, but I always had to carefully push it down before closing it, which was a pain in the ass.
It's an older laptop, and way past warranty.
Anyway, when I picked up the laptop after the fall, I noticed that the exterior had fixed itself. I had tried many times to fix it on my own, and was unsuccessful. Somehow the fall happened in a perfect way to where it fixed the issue with the exterior but didn't damage anything else.
