you know what... I'm going to read the whole thing.
If you're a kindle user, you can export the article via: http://longform.org/search?utf8=%E2%...uery=Silk+Road
Did Micon ever talk about Dread Pirate Roberts? Wonder if he saw him as some kind of personal hero.
I also appreciate the link but I can't read the whole thing.
The first paragraph was so OBV embellished I can't respect the rest of it as truth.
I can't imagine Tarbell and those others gave interviews so I believe most of the article is embellished and coupled with the other well-known facts.
How does he know the race and gender of the FBI agent that grabbed the laptop? C'mon.. how does he know there was some territorial stuff going on within the different FBI field offices?
The real whodunit is how they really found and caught the guy and I don't think anyone with intimate details of what happened are talking.
My guess is the authors read some court transcripts. FBI and DEA agents aren't giving interviews to reports. If they have something to say after they retire they are smart enough to do so in some sort of value exchange - they aren't giving up the goods to Wired Magazine for no reason.
Just my opinion....
The illustrations are awesome, though
