NWP was perhaps slightly less of a hornets nest when I joined, but only by a bit as I was lambasted as a newbie moron, which I was totally expecting and perhaps deserving. I had doubts about even joining the site as it was pretty hostile at the time. Anywho, as time passes, we filter out the chaff and you're either put up with or rejected. Most who partake in the newbie ritual hazing let off after a while, but some take it on for good/bad. Shooz was a prick to me from day one and never let it go. Fine. But what would you expect from me? Am I going to bend over and let some tosser have his way. Nay.
So the war was on.
By contrast, another war I fought was with the man, VEGAS1369,
who was a moderator of that site when I joined.
His job was to shut the newbie idiots up when they wouldn't and he became another focus of my anger. It was fun in a way but it was also very negative and somehow we
decided to let it go and focus on other things. I respect the fact that Vegas1369's job was to curtail me, so after many battles, I hold no grudges, in fact it's just the opposite.
BTW, one of the earliest positive responses I received and believe me they were few and far between was from poker forum legend TYDE.

It's funny how people still care after 4 years, I would've posted the sloth pic myself if I had time or energy to find them, glad you got it out of your system jewdonk.
I'm still with the same woman for coming up to 4 years now, adapting to "normal" life pretty well!
I did a marketing type job for about a year, but the boss was a prick so when a relative passed and left me 1/3 a property I quit and bought out the other 2/3 and spent 6 months renovating and made a tidy profit. So that is bringing me some rental income and allowed me to take a relatively low paid job working with people with learning disabilities, which is pretty damn rewarding and fun.
I play zero poker as I don't have the time, but still doing some decent travelling, did oz for. Month last year and heading back to cancun soon for a couple of weeks.
Still in contact with Betty who linked me to this debacle and Vegas of course, who I will no doubt suck off on a boat one day soon. Be nice to hear from a few of the other cool people still floating around.
