Roger Goodell will serve as arbitrator in Tom Brady’s #DeflateGate appeal http://ble.ac/1JjafXv
LOL is this real life
You're joking right? Let's review the facts:
The balls were inspected before the game and found to be properly inflated. They were then returned to the Patriots' control. Later, when a Colts player mentioned to an official that the balls seemed underinflated, they were inspected again and 11 of 12 found to be underinflated. During the time they were under Patriots' control AFTER they were initially inspected, SOMEONE deflated them. The Patriots' equipment guys (now since fired) had them the whole time. Who do you think did it? And do you think they do anything to those balls without Tom Brady's knowledge and approval? Of course not.
The text messages from the equipment guys are so LOL. The guy calls himself "the Deflator" FFS! But even more hilarious is the Patriots' supposed explanation. "The Delflator" refers to that guy trying to lose weight? Only a retard would believe this and it makes them look like idiots to even say it. Not to mention, the same guy texted that he was going to stick it to Brady by overinflating the balls and "turning them into watermelons." If Brady's preference was not discussed and a routine of underinflating the balls not in place, then why would he think of overinflating the balls as a way to stick it to Brady? Obviously ball inflation was a common topic with these guys.
The 2 equipment guys have been fired. Why?
Brady and the Patriots did not fully cooperate with the Wells investigation. Why?
This just in: Kraft has decided to accept the Patriots' punishment and not appeal. http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/...ate-punishment. Why? Because he knows firsthand what everyone else only knows because they see the evidence and they aren't retards: Brady cheated. The punishment for the organization is due to the serial cheating and the lack of institutional control with respect to maintaining the integrity of the game and ensuring their employees complied with the rules. It's an appropriate punishment, but probably more than another team would have got, because of the Pats' history of cheating.
Brady is still free to appeal his own punishment, which it appears he is. Fine. People have said there's no "smoking gun," no "conclusive proof," etc. There doesn't have to be. This isn't a court of law and Brady's rights are not the same as in a criminal proceeding. This is an NFL disciplinary matter and it is handled under the CBA. The Wells report's conclusions are obvious and reasonable given the evidence available. Maybe if Brady had cooperated they would have had the smoking gun.
I thought 4 games was exactly the right punishment for Brady. The first PED offense is 4 games. Brady's offense is an integrity of the game issue the same as PEDs are. The people advocating for 8 games or even a whole season, that's way too much. I expect it to get knocked down to 2 on appeal. Brady has lawyered up and other players have said he should sue. Sure, go ahead. It's a bluff. He can't sue because if he takes it into court then it does become a legal proceeding which to this point it has not been, and then all the evidence he refused to turn over like his own text messages, that is discoverable by court order. And those fired equipment guys can be called in to testify under oath. I'm guessing they'd be only too happy to testify against the team that just fired them and the QB who threw them under the bus after pretending to be so concerned about them and their families. If Brady takes it to court he's fucked.
To be absolutely clear, the Pats would have destroyed the Colts in the AFCCG no matter what. I am a lifelong Colts fan (well since they moved to Indy anyway) and I bet heavily on the Patriots on that game because I knew what was coming. I'm not saying it affected this game. But the problem with cheating is that once you are caught doing it, nobody knows how long you've been doing it and what other cheating you might be up to. This surely wasn't the only game in which they deflated the balls. Many commentators and former players have said it may well have made a difference the previous week in the Divisional Round against Baltimore, a close game in very cold weather. The Pats are serial offenders, considering Spygate and who knows what else they might have done. Would you play poker with someone you know to have cheated before? A cheater is branded and can't be trusted. This is why all of their Super Bowls are tainted and illegitimate--not because they necessarily gained an advantage in any particular game.
And yet despite it being abundantly clear that Brady cheated, Pats homers are saying there was some kind of conspiracy against Brady and the Pats. It makes no sense for the NFL to conspire against one of its most talented, most visible, most popular players and keep him out of the mega-hyped season-opening game. They say the Colts had a secret arrangement with the league, as proven by the fact that they told the officials to keep an eye on the balls well before the game. All that means is the Colts got info on a Pats tendency and alerted the officials before the game. It's no different than a baseball manager saying check that guy's bat for cork, or a basketball player saying watch this guy he tends to throw his shoulder into the defender every time he drives the lane. Every team does this to work the officials before the game. If the Colts felt the need to mention this specific item to the officials before the game, that actually suggests that someone knew the Pats have deflated balls before and warned the Colts about it. It's not whining and it's not a conspiracy if the other team is actually cheating.
It's ridiculous that teams keep possession of the game balls. About 10 years ago all the big name QBs lobbied the NFL to let them work in their balls before the game so they can get them in the shape they want, though of course they are supposed to stay within the rules. The NFL should let them work in the balls but then take possession of them before the game and inspect them after the team has had no more opportunity to manipulate them, then keep them throughout the game. Simple fix.
Brady's a first-ballot HOFer and an all time great QB. But he cheated in this respect and that will always follow him. He almost certainly would have achieved all he has without cheating, but now he's tainted himself. He can console himself by fucking Giselle I guess.
What he says and what they can prove are 2 different things. Find me one shred of evidence in the wells report that sayds Tom Brady instructed anyone to go into a bathroom and deflate footballs.
Also link me to the radio interviews where he says he likes his footballs to be under 12.5 PSI.

I like and miss you HK, but holy fuck man you are losing your mind over a game, a game that you have no personal or professional ties to.
Is this a court of law? I dont see how they would need proof like in a murder case.
Common sense goes a long way here, and the Pats fucked up
Slava Ukraini!
Agreed and they got penalized. It is not a court of law. The League can hand down penalties without smoking gun proof.
However, Brady can appeal his 4 games and have someone outside the NFL look at the case and it could be wiped out clean or reduced, or it can stay the same. Roger Goodell has the power to be the appeal guy but I don't think they he can be if Bradys camp decides to call him as a witness.
As far as Kraft not fighting over losing $1,000,000 and loss of picks I am not surprised by this. Most owners don't decide to take on the NFL with the exception of Al Davis. It would be a bad look for the league and the team and could cause a lot of conflict between owners etc...
It's a good thing Hongkonger has gotten over that loss to the Pats, otherwise he might write long winded, ridiculous responses to the deflategate scandal.
If the air pressure in balls matters at all why does any of this fall under the honor system ? Like is there a reason why the balls aren't put in to sealed containers out of reach after the inspection and before the game start ?
Hey Hongkonger, you Peyton homer...

"We hold that the Commissioner properly exercised his broad discretion under the collective bargaining agreement and that his procedural rulings were properly grounded in that agreement and did not deprive Brady of fundamental fairness," the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday in a 2-1 decision in New York.
...
Circuit Judge Denny Chin said evidence of ball tampering was "compelling, if not overwhelming" and that there was evidence that Brady "knew about it, consented to it, encouraged it."
The league argued that it was fair for Goodell to severely penalize Brady after he concluded that the prize quarterback tarnished the game by impeding the NFL's investigation by destroying a cellphone containing almost 10,000 messages.
Judge Barrington D. Parker said the cellphone destruction raised the stakes "from air in a football to compromising the integrity of a proceeding that the commissioner had convened."
"So why couldn't the commissioner suspend Mr. Brady for that conduct alone?" he asked. Parker added: "With all due respect, Mr. Brady's explanation of that made no sense whatsoever."
Everyone upthread who mocked me, go fuck yourselves. You're all wrong. Enjoy 4 games of Jimmy Garoppalo.
The Patriots have NO legitimate Super Bowl titles.
Peyton Manning, the GOAT, has 2.
His brother Eli who is better than Brady also has 2 and they came against Brady which is extra sweet.
This gives pretty boy Brady a month to work on his hair.
Maybe Giselle can come to his defense again.
