Not to nitpick, but I think you misunderstood CM's "great advice" on handling Aces. He DOES state to never Split Aces(Which is insane), however he does NOT state that you should Stand on A-A. I would have to believe even a moron like him would HIT on A-A if he isn't going to split.
Overall, I've seen this move constantly cause the player to lose the hand instead of winning or pushing. However, about a week ago I had a young man at the table bet $500 and come across A-A against a dealer 4. He was scrambling to find another $500 to split them. He first tried splitting for less, to which the dealer said "No, it has to be equal money!" So he just gave up and said "Hit" , to his good fortune he caught a 9 and the dealer turned up 14 and caught the next card, which was a 4.
So the young lad won his $500 wager only to reduce his bet on the next hand and receive a 7. Which would have been the dealer's 7 had he split those Aces. But the numbers don't lie and that would been only ONE out of NINE instances where a non-split was the winning move.
In the past 6 weeks at my local gambling hole, I've seen some of the worst moves you can imagine - Double Hard 15 vs Dealer 5, Double Hard 18 vs Dealer 2 and the best of em all... SURRENDER on 11 vs dealer 10! So I guess my decision to limit playing sessions to less than 30 minutes was also motivated by the amount of dumbshits that were flooding the tables recently. Either way, I made a good amount of additional revenue, so... "I'll Buy that for a Dollar!"
