AOC just destroying the rules that govern our congressman. The only way you can say this is bad, is if you are pro corruption.
"This clip doesn't do it justice. Rep. Ocasio-Cortez @aoc powerfully walked through ways that loopholes in our fractured system are exploited to gain and misuse entrusted power for private gain. It was peek behind the closed doors of smoke-filled rooms where democracy is stolen." -Walter Schaub, former director OGE.
Sorry Druff, the video doesn't go down to her feet, so whatever point you were making is moot, here.
Reminds me of when he said Chelsea and Hillary don't get a long because he read a RW blog. Why do you guys even talk about that?
Smoked filled rooms where democracy is stolen
:lol4
Does anyone know the definition of a "democracy"? Can anyone analyze the last hundred years of this "democracy" and tell me if the definition fits the last hundred years?....libtard authoritarians look at a group of mindless zombies and call it democracy.......fucking despicable......
The bitch can't even spell DEMOCRACY
Funny hearing Democrats talk about "democracy being stolen" when they still have superdelegates in their primary system.
But wait, we aren't supposed to talk about that.
Just look at the young Hispanic girl making headlines in Congress! There you go!
Has your brain stopped functioning? What does "not supposed to talk about it" mean"? Dems talked about it A LOT and still talk about it. What planet are you on?
Democrats dislike them a lot they basically stripped all their power in 2018.
Druff you're a reasonably intelligent guy but these strawmen make you look pretty bad.
i want to have sex with AOC. like if you agree
cortez, harris, abrams, pelosi, warren....lol...
this country would be in serious trouble if an of these lunatics made the oval office.
abrams and harris makes cortez palatable they're so scary bad
The new Sarah Palin they said?... Yeah, I don't think so.
Now I understand why crooked Republicans are going after the bitch so hard.
What a huge pile of shit the American political system is.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AljakpXAh7c`
abrams an harris promote racism and division. abrams especially (this milk dud went to yale as well..i can only imagine how many peeps she displaced because she was black and female),....and harris is married to white dude. harris backed the attacker that left that trucker brain dead in the la rots years ago. she is 100% FOS and one stupid, scary bitch.
I don't know what you're implying.
I would love nothing more than to see her run in a future presidential election.
It's not her, it's the tired old worn out polarizing bag of magic tricks that she represents.
Time is only proving how wrong and hypocritical the left has been...
i was curious why you are more scared of abrams and kamala than aoc
they would be far more centrist than aoc
so i assumed you were scared they might try to help black people
then i tried to calm you down by saying they wont really help black people that much, they would be more worried about helping their rich donors
If she did ever find herself on the winning side of a presidential election we would have an inflationary depression inside of 6 years or she would be assasinated by the military industrial complex in reaction to the amount of cuts they would have.
Nobody is "scared" of these bitches, they spend to much time around beta males and homos because real niggas wouldn't take that sass...
I really do hope she rises within the Democratic Party and runs in 2028.
She won't hold up under the scrutiny of a Presidential election.
She very much has the "naive, idealistic college student who wants to fix the world but doesn't understand how it all really works" vibe to her.
That's why she says so many stupid things if you sit her down to an interview.
She's good at tweeting, making videos, and general activism -- all where she can speak mostly from a script prepared by her handlers.
Now she's attacking something which is universally disliked -- government corruption.
Yes, AOC, there exists corruption in government. There always has. There always will be. If you can use your position to curtail it, or at least bring further light to the issue, that's great, and I applaud you for it. But don't act like you've made some monumental discovery or are the first one to attempt to fight government corruption.
I've seen leftists all over social media share this "AOC plays the bad guy" video, and fawning over how brave and brilliant she is.
I actually understand Trump's appeal more than hers, and keep in mind that I'm not and never have been a Trump fan.
But at least with Trump, I could understand that he was a blunt tell-it-like-it-is, ruthless businessman who was going to take that mentality to clean up government and put America's interests first. Or at least that was the image he portrayed, and many found believable, especially given his wealth and success in business. Trump brought the "I've gotten shit done in the past in business, and now I will do it for America" appeal to America. This allowed people to overlook his obvious flaws and unpresidential temperament.
But AOC.. where's her appeal? Because she's young and Hispanic? Because she's outspoken and idealistic?
I really have a hard time separating her from the generic idiot leftist college kid you see protesting on campuses around the nation. They're all basically the same naive, unsophisticated, life-inexperienced person.
Except in this case, instead of just an annoying college kid, Democrats are branding her the future leader of our country.
Oy vey.
I will say that I do believe she is genuine and means what she says. I don't think she's a bad or manipulative person. In short, she's no Hillary.
But being a good person doesn't necessarily make you a good leader. Jimmy Carter was a good person, for example.
Anyway, I do hope she runs for President in 2028, and I do hope the Democrats continue to throw their support behind her.
Barack Obama scared me as soon as I saw him speak in 2004. AOC does not.
Who did you like when you were 18-24 Druff?
Not sure I understand the question.
You mean which politicians did I like?
I actually did like George H.W. Bush, though I liked him a little bit less after he broke the "Read my lips, no new taxes" promise, and then when he remained in too much denial about the early '90s recession (both of which cost him the election in 1992).
Poppy Bush deserves a heap of respect for politically biting the financial system bullet that caused the early ‘90s recession: Pushing through the banking reforms that halted the S&L crisis that Team Reagan punted on for at least 3 years. It caused bank lending to contract for awhile, but it laid the economic groundwork for the economy to recover and do well shortly after Clinton ended up taking office (which later he opportunistically took credit for bringing about).
I don’t know what he said about the civil rights act. He may have trashed it back in the 60s, as most GOPers did, but it wasn’t an issue in the early 1990s.
And his “No new taxes” pledge was plain to stupid to make AND didn’t hurt him 1/10th as much in the general election as his push to pass NAFTA, which Ross Perot absolutely savaged him over.
https://youtu.be/EAHM9rXjdUo
this is why AOC is a moron, creating her own straw man over satire
like seriously wtf, the guy even says "lets see if she'll bite"
Mumbles, you are older than me, so I'm surprised you have such a warped memory of the '92 election.
The "read my lips" thing was a killer for Bush. It helped him in '88, as it nicely drew a line between him and tax-happy Michael Dukakis, but then it backfired four years later when he violated the promise.
I understood why he violated it. I didn't agree with what he did, but I know it was in the spirit of bipartisanship.
But everyone was taking about it in 1992. He lost a lot of the people who voted for him in the first place, believing him to be a phony and not one who sticks to his convictions.
Now, you're correct about Ross Perot. If there were no Perot, Bush probably would have won reelection. The "giant sucking sound" was actually Bush voters being sucked away by Perot, who presented himself as the fiscally responsible candidate.
So people were pissed about "read my lips", saw Perot, and said, "Well, I bet THAT guy will know what he's doing with the economy, and he seems like the type who will keep his promises."
If the economy were good at the time, people would have voted for Bush anyway, but the problem was that we were in a recession, and people saw Bush as an out-of-touch politician who both broke his promise about taxes AND allowed the economy to sink into a recession anyway.
The recession wasn't really his fault. Bush was battling with a Congress who wouldn't let him do anything, so he was pretty much powerless to stop it. Also, the economy was on its way back up in the fall of 1992, but those numbers weren't out yet, and he lost.
Interestingly, Perot's semi-popularity foreshadowed Trump's rise nearly 25 years later. In both cases, a rich businessman frequently showed up on TV, told everyone that the current group of leaders were doing anything wrong, and that they'd use their business skills to fix everything.
Trump did it better than Perot, though. Perot kept buying TV time and using charts and graphs to attempt to make his point. Trump used his existing celebrity status to get a ton of free coverage via the news media, and then viciously trashed Republican rivals until no one was left. Then he was fortunate enough to go up against a weak candidate in the general election, and here we are.
This is her "green new deal". She posted it a couple of days ago on the government site and then it was taken down. I went to a wayback machine to get it
My sides hurt from reading this. What a bunch of laughable utopian bullshit. She has ZERO concept of reality. I especially loved the part about paying people who are unwilling to work.
https://web.archive.org/web/20190207...n-new-deal-faq
her adviser claimed it was doctored, which it wasn't

AOC might want to start treading a little more carefully. the media seems awfully close to turning on her. she's a little too loud with the full-fledged socialism talk.
mixed feels.
if she was running for president id be like lost cause. but i think her strain of radical compassion is going to find roots in newer generations who will be over the fucking top stoked to have someone who actually empathizes openly with their sense of urgency and dispels their overwhelming sense of hopelessness regarding exactly everything.
the only thing that concerns me is that before she can do any good, some maga incel is going to assassinate her to defend ben shapiro's honor.
Between the anti-capitalism rhetoric, the anti-white racism and the blatant anti-semitism, there is a lot about her the media could take umbrage with. With Trump doing his thing, I think it is an enemy of my enemy is my friend situation, but take Trump out of the equation and I could see the media turning on her real quick.
my issue with her is she's becoming a caricature of herself. the "let's provide for those unwilling to work for themselves" is literally like an onion parody of AOC. and i get that this was just an initial draft and probably not written by her (i hope?), but it's still just curious that those words could ever get written down... by anyone. god help her if she ever had to answer questions in a debate format on things like this.
i could be wrong but she seems so dangerously clueless that she actually risks setting back a progressive agenda. seems like a lot of media blue-check twitter is coming after her lately
