Thank you for making an R rated original series where Laura Prepon is a drug dealing lesbian. Then to further show off you put her tits in the intro of the first episode. Sheer genius.

I watched the full season this weekend. Not bad.
Thoroughly enjoyed this, and literally burned through the season in 3 days.
This series rocks. I fucking loved it after the first ten minutes. Healy is great, that dude was in The Wire and Weeds and he was good but this is a breakout role for him.
edit: not Healy, the dirty guard Mendez. Healy is fucking great too though.
The stuff out there on cable and now the Netflix is beginning to blow away the crap in theaters. The writing is often so much better.
"All bad things must come to an end". Breaking Bad August 9th. Beats whatever Tom Cruise has in the works.
Yeah, because Breaking Bad hasn't become predictable.
I haven't been surprised at an ending/finale since 1996

I noticed Orange is the New Black a couple weeks ago on netflix but haven't gave it a go yet so I will have to check it out sometime soon.
From what I've heard it's a decent show not as good as House of Cards but watch worthy.
I should have clarified. I wasn't necessarily saying that movies are better than tv nowadays. It was more a shot at BB for going from an A+ series to a B-. On the whole, TV destroys Movies nowadays. No question. But I think both are incredibly weak at this point in time.
I agree that Vince Gilliam ran BB too far. He had something that was as you say, A+ and it got diluted a bit.
I still contend the good writers are gravitating toward the small screen for the freedom that is found there vs the Hollywood box office machine. Fast & Furious 8 or a new Jennifer Anniston or Will Ferrell flick?
Hollywood has become far to dependent on sequels, prequels, and remakes. It's recycled garbage year after year.

Really? Really!?!?

We get this, but I can't get a Master and Commander sequel?
They've got to dumb them down for the lowest common denominator, then make them 2+ hours so these simpletons feel like they got their monies worth, when in reality, most of these big budget popcorn flicks should be 90 minutes, 100 minutes tops.
The guy that plays Mendez is good. He does a good job of playing the asshole prison guard while still pulling off some funny one liners from time to time.

Watched the 1st episode tonight. Looks like it could be very good
Show is great. Theme is great. Cast is great. Can't wait for new episodes.
I'm about half way through, this is a great show.
I like the 'OZ' style flashbacks to show how everyone ended up there.
And the story line is great.
I love when she is bragging about her little jail milestones to the outside world, and they just can't even
comprehend what she is saying, & RED rocks.
I finished season 1 last night, WOW!!!!!
I did not see that coming at all.
Any SOA fans, that Jesus freak hillbilly, that is Cherry, the one that was w/half sack.
I'm glad Laura Prepon found a show.
It must be hard keeping up w/ the jones from that 70's show.
I liked that scene, where they were all yeah "the blond and the hot one" ......... and everyone turns around, "the hot one?"
Yeah the hot one.
The blond can't be hot, she is cute, but she looks too much like Marcia Brady to be hot.

As first reported from Buzzfeed, the 33-year-old actress will be returning for only a handful of episodes in the show's 13-episode season 2 in order to wrap up her story line. The actress is not tied down to the series and has not signed a contract.
I'd say that is a mistake on her part. What has she done since 'that 70's show'? Think David Caruso, and re sign.
I just read this series is based on a true story.
The real piper got out in a year (and married her fiance at the time), so I wonder if they are going to extend the stay or not.
I still can't get over the last episode.
The great thing about a series based in Jail is you can bring in any actor you want. Instant back story, he got arrested for (fill in the blank).
This Laura Prepon, my friend was totally into that pick up scene, (he knew the guys on that show on VH1). We are at a hotel in LA, she was filming a horror movie. (im pretty sure she was still doing that 70's)
He walks right up to her, and starts throwing down, he didn't get anywhere w/her, but she was totally into the conversation, didn't big league him at all. She seemed pretty normal/grounded.
Her former co-star Mila Kunis seems the same way.
Could be worse. The chick that played Lori is DD as of today.

Their situations aren't the same at all. Caruso quit a hit show thinking he was going to be a film star. He had a couple of bombs and no one would hire him because he was known to be a big asshole on set.
Laura Prepon stayed on her show and seems to have a good rep. With the money from the syndication of 'that 70's show' she should never have to work again unless she wants to. How do you think Fez is still sitting in his big house, clubbing, and banging every new starlet in town while almost never working?

Masterson also owns or co-owns eleven restaurants.
He is also a well-known poker enthusiast, stating "The most I've lost is a couple of grand and the most I've won is a lot more than that." He appeared as part of a poker team, the Unabombers, at a Poker Royale: James Woods vs. the Unabombers tournament on GSN.[29] He has also hosted celebrity poker events, such as the Phat Farm Stuff Casino Weekend Poker Tournament, in which he won the tournament. Masterson, his brother Chris, and his That '70s Show costar Laura Prepon are all investors in Card Player magazine.

Got through the first season tonight..
I found myself enjoying the show more and more as it went on but damn that ending left me wanting more.
I've as well read that Laura Prepon won't be back for season 2.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMoCTTiEuNY
I agree. I found myself expecting something like that would happen though because if they are going to extend the show for multiple seasons they would need her to be in there more than 18 months. My biggest question now is whether she stopped before she killed her. Well that and if we'll get to see Prepon's tits again before she leaves.
It is the same in that she is thinking about leaving a show that is doing good w/nothing really in the works. Obv NYPD was a bigger hit, but it was only season 2 and I think this at least has a chance of being a hit.
Caruso thought he'd be a big movie star.
Not sure why she wouldn't stay on, she has had a few shows that have bombed, and no movie career to speak of.
If she is a bitch, and hard to work w/that is a different convo, I'm just saying from the point of view, of her looking for work, seems like an easy decision.
Season 2 will Premiere on June 6th.
Here is the first preview which is is way too short:

4 episodes into House of Cards Season 2 already.
One of the best shows in years.
Just finished the first episode, I knew coming off season 1 zoe barnes would have some sort of immediate impact, I remember telling china right after finishing season 1 that I thought Zoe was going to ditch the other reporters she was associated with and go back with frank, all that seemed to be coming true but I don't want to spoil the rest of that shit for others.
but seriously this show is fucking god.
i mean, where do i even start?
cuff links scene?
i mean..

They have the first nine here so it must be at least nine now.

My three favorite shows currently airing are True Blood, Banshee, and Black Sails. And I normally could give two shits about pirate shows but Black Sails has me hooked. The last time I thought anything pirate related was cool was riding Pirates of Caribbean ride at Disney land or Disneyworld when I was 10 years old or younger and seeing them dangling the key just out of the reach of the prisoner.
I'm such a fucking nerd now to watch so many shows. I hadn't watched anything other than sports and news and a few movies on tv in years before a while back. The beautiful thing is the ability to fast forward through parts where you almost certainly know you won't miss anything that important.
If you want an absolute can't miss show that I stumbled upon because I check out a lot of shows for the first episode or so.
It's called Orphan Black. Only one season so far.
I am Half way through the first season. I am enjoying it. I like the show Weeds also, which I believe are the same writers.
BUMP!
Season 2 of Orange Is the New Black now on Netflix
makes me want to watch house of cards again
