Please do me this favor next time PFA has server issues

If you cannot connect to PFA, please do the following, and note the results. Then post them when you can finally get through.

1) Can you connect to pokerfraud.com instead of pokerfraudalert.com?

2) Can you connect to vegascasinotalk.com?

3) Can you connect to any of these sites: dandruffpoker.com, toddwitteles.com, toddwitteles.net, raregamepiece.com

I recently got a clue in that some people reported they COULD connect to pokerfraud.com but NOT pokerfraudalert.com when we were having our server issues Monday, which leads me to now suspect there's something on the Apache web server side and not general server issues.

This would also explain why things would improve when I would stop Apache and restart it.

Anyway, please let me know the answers to these questions next time you can't connect to PFA.

Earlier this week when I couldn't connect to PFA, I could connect to Vegasiniotalk. Next time I'll try the other URLs.

Pokerfraud.com was better when you simply could not connect to Pokerfraudalert.

Make no mistake, pokerfraud was often slow and difficult at the same time pokerfraudalert was completely unresponsive

I too found this to be the case, but will try all the options next time.

Like my mum said she’ll hang up on her mobile then ring me 50 miles closer to home cos it’s cheaper..
The main site and pokerfraud were down the other day on all appliances....
This has probably cured it ...thank me later ....

I am strongly of the belief that there is some Apache issue which seems to affect the domains with the most hits.

This is why PFA suffers the most (being the most active), followed by vegascasinotalk, followed by pokerfraud, followed by the rest which are rarely visited.

I have noticed that vegascasinotalk.com sometimes works and sometimes doesn't when pokerfraudalert.com isn't responding. However, they are on different IPs, and use different databases, so I didn't make much of it at the time.

The fact that pokerfraud works and pokerfraudalert doesn't, when they both point to the exact same site, is very indicative of some kind of Apache problem.

exact same experience here..

If Druff was on the NHL train we could be out of the red by now.

But alas we are in a deficit and cuts had to be made. First server RAM.

Next monthly subscriptions to be able to post. First month free though.

2.5 weeks since the fix, and still no issues.

I solved it. I'll take credit at this point. 16 years after my last computer job, and I still got it.

I have to thank pokerfraud.com for being the key. If I didn't have the alternate way in, which worked when main PFA didn't, I'd still be scratching my head about this one.

Also, I notice the Trump thread is loading at a reasonable speed now.

Is anyone noticing it's very slow to load anymore, or is that also vastly improved? That thread was part of the reason I switched servers in the first place.
