'90s WSOP double bracelet winner charged with sending powder to New York gaming officials

Brent Carter, who won WSOP bracelets in 1991 and 1994, was charged with sending an envelope with white powder to NY gaming officials, presumably as a result of a grudge. He's 72 years old.

He's also alleged to have left threatening voicemails to those same officials shortly after the Stephen Paddock shooting in Las Vegas.

Carter has had issues with the NY gaming commission dating back to the 1970s. The powder was analyzed and said to be harmless, so he was just trying to scare them.

However, he's likely no longer a "millionaire" as described on the chip. He hasn't cashed in a WSOP since 2012, and played low buyin tournaments the next three years, before his results dropping off completely after 2015.

I told him I remember seeing him at the Meadowlands in one of his rare appearances there..

He has the Honor of Eliminating Barbara Enright the Only WSOP F/T woman ever, she wind up w/5th..I think he had 3-6 or some crap..... good stuff.
I hope he gets the help he needs,..Poor guy.

I know from speaking with him he would not play ball with the Hierarchy that existed then at Yonkers and Roosevelt meadowlands... was very crooked withe Filions, Abbatiellos,Marshes,Dancers,Campells etc..

I think he was framed for being a square...IMO..below is from 2012 36 yrs later.

holy fuck i believe this guy plays on ACR under his own name...ive played with him in really small stakes PLO8 SNGs...he's either broke or bored out of his mind to be playing those stakes..

I was standing there watching in 1995 when Barbara Enright moved all in at the final table. Brent Carter called her with 6d-3d. She showed pocket 8's. He flopped two pair and Barbara was out 5th. What I remember about Carter was he was a rules wonk. He knew the rules backwards and forwards and used it on players.
