In both cases, you have people who got notoriety and money from doing "work" which was a hobby anyway, and they feel guilty about it. They subconsciously feel that they don't deserve the money and fame that they have, and that they got an unfair benefit in life above most other people who struggle to make it by.
This leads to the adoption of far-left politics and support of SJW dogma, because in their minds, if they're advocating for the victim classes, then they're doing their part and no longer have to feel guilty about their wealth and fame.
Often they will also turn out to be hypocrites. In this case, Justin claims to be a huge feminist and is apologizing for "sexual harassment" he's supposedly committed in the past, yet lives a lifestyle of polyamory, which is all based around using women as disposable sex objects.
