The question is how many Bitcoin kids took their action to ACR or soon Bovada.
Anyone notice any difference in traffic or missing reg's?
BTC was their unique niche. No longer. Business people never know when to quit though. Instead walking out on top with profit and limiting losses - they usually keep chasing.
With the long weekend coming up, it looks like I might be taking my action to Bovada....Looking to run it up like StickyRice1 minus the going busto.
There is definitely that risk of losing customers if they continue to go down. However, humans are creatures of habit and if this get used to something and dont have issues with it, they dont really dont want to change, Take this forum for example.. who would really give a shit if Druff put in 5k into it and made it have the latest forum software with a million plugins. Most would find the "upgrade" extremely annoying.
Inertia. Always the correct read.
Being down at this time is tragic timing if it is simply technical. Players aren't gonna kill time reading the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy - they will seek action elsewhere and ACR now takes their precious BTC. Don't force your customers to get their lunch elsewhere. They may not come back.
I think they are introducing new software. Anyone who knows micons track record on such things should not be surprised.
What migration takes 3 days? I guess bad execution is what you mean about "Micon's track record".
We both know Micon ain't the technical guy. He definitely communicates well. I understood that to be his role over there. Yet they have "gone dark"?
That's kinda interesting and profoundly stupid.
Well that IS the cost of the upgrade. Maybe you cannot afford the upgrade and the improvement is not worth the cost.
At the very least you communicate your actions to your customers.
I haven't looked but jacosta would have reported the reason if it was properly communicated.
So he is left to wonder. I am just enjoying the Schadenfreude of another US facing site's ineptitude. It is staggering how badly run they are.
Again I think you're measuring their performance using the wrong yardstick to an extent, but of course if you're speaking as a client, you couldnt be righter.
SEALS 2.0
maybe this is nothing but micon is also gone from twitter for 3 days. check his tweets before that & he is always posting there. not one word bout this from his twitter & he vanished right when it went down it looks like. seals twitter last posted yesterday. wtf
As much as it would be fun to dream up scenarios where
-bitcoins gone, site hacked
-micon ran off to Mexico with Tyde
-SWAT team cornered Micon's house yesterday
It really likely is that they're just that stupid with technology and do not have any sort of infrastructure at all. Not even a backup from the day before they could revert to lol
doubt micon stole bitcoin & ran. not his style & also his life was seals, plus he has that little kid so its harder to just grab yer shit & run. but I dont see it in his character to just steal like that.
i cant explain it, i think something fucked up happened, like maybe a bust or seizure, or maybe some sorta really good hack & hes too scared to give updates. no way its maintenance tho.
just checked 4 & they are cashing ppl out so it doesnt look to be about $. fucking weird though.
Id take 'Micon not ripping anyone off' at virtually any odds.
Relax, people, the chairmans got this shit under control
just glanced at seals twitter again. totes not micons writing style. obv that freemoney dude updating it, but it has nothing for past 24h.
cant wrap my head round this cuz micon is the spokesmen and freemoney is the tech guy, so if anyone should be too busy for updates it should be freemoney. micon should be in his sweatsedo stroking us on the head & saying everything will be fine.
what we have here is seals goes down, micon disappears, freemomey giving bs maintenance excuses, & them cashing anyone out who wants their btc right now. this says to me its not them stealing, its not a situation they want to admit the truth, & micon cant/wont say anything at the time everyone wants to hear from him.
can u give me micon got busted for $100, alex?
im guessing they refused to loan micon money to play slots so micon turned off the power and deleted his accounts and now they have to break back into the machines and find new hosting.
haha funny
u kinda made me think tho. what if micon and freemoney had a big fallout & thats what this is all about. we all know keeping friends isnt exactly his strong suit. i wish they would just be honest w/everyone & not say a hardware crash. if its a hardware crash, micon doenst become a ghost from his beloved social media all of a sudden.
honestly it happens.
whoa nelly this is weird
just thought of that stealthmunk guy who went on pfa radio a few wks ago to bitch at druff. well hes a seals pro so i thought hey i wonder about what he thinks of all this. just checked & he deleted all his tweets!
wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf wtf
now i again think this was a bust and stealthmunk is covering any evidence he was part of it
http://twitter.com/stealthmunk
Its most likely not a bust but the people that dont know what it is probably is just trying to cover there asses just incase
stealthmunk erases his tweets all the time

Micon posted there
well looks like i was wrong bout the bust, but i still dont believe its any kind of tech issue.Quote:
1) really sorry for no comms last few days, I understand the frustration. Sometimes life happens at the worst times and you come back to a shitstorm.
2) ST6 is primarily focused on getting SwC back
3) balances are available for withdraw. big ups to hdev for handling them.
4) bitcoins are safe, and I reiterate that they are available for withdraw if you'd like them. Big ups to all of ST6 for this, with the MVP going to hdev
5) No clue how long we will be down, it's in ST6's hands and it looks like it may be a bit. I'm not going to say anything further until I spend a bunch of hours understanding the exact nature of the issue.
6) tyvm for playing SwC, and I understand how frustrating it must be not to have it right now. As many of the beta testers can verify (please, speak up now, I understand I swore you all to secrecy but it's totally cool now) we are very close to dropping absolutely super-nasty bitcoin poker 2.0 software. We have been playing live games for small stakes for a few weeks now, and I can promise the bitcoin poker world we are going to drop this all over your faces very soon. During this unplanned, extended downtime please thing about our history, and how we have consistently delivered since 2011.
Bear with us, I wanna dealer's choice too
guess we will see shortly, maybe

honestly, this seems 100% legit.
i offered to help them get their IT shit sorted some years ago and micon said hes done working with people he knows from poker forums, which i totally respect.
its sad because i make a good living keep shit like this from happening, i would have gladly helped them set up a real program.
Whatever anyone says / thinks about SWC and/or Micon, there has never been concerns about people getting coin off the site. Even with the site down there is a form to cash out.
While the outage is clearly embarrassing I'm sure SWC will weather the storm providing it isn't down for weeks.
Seals prob understands they need to get a new version out there as PokerStars is admitting it is working on accepting Bitcoin soon. This lets some players avoid currency conversion fees and real banks.

I think Seals was hacked and they caught the perpetrators before they could steal the BTC but not before they fucked up the site good....
From a commenter on the BTC thread:
That's what I bet on: they cheaped out on the software and got burned for it eventually (either by sabotage or failure).Quote:
I don't know if its just me but it seems that all these websites really cheap out on webhosts. They keep going down and they lose business.
The good thing I guess we learn, if they in fact did get hacked: the encryption of BTC I guess really does protect account balances. Glad ppl getting their money.
