Thats without windchill. If it were a straight -16, it would be a heatwave! Unfortunately we have 20-30 mph winds, so its currently around -45 give or take.
I don't remember having this high of wind when it was this cold for a very long time - like 20 or 30 years.
Not something I would ever say but, some people are suggesting that America's inaction in tackling climate change is somehow sweet justice for the horrendous weather it is currently experiencing.
Very harsh IMO. There is no proof of that (ask your sitting President). And Just because the US MAY HAVE done more to fuck up our planet than any other country, it doesn't mean we should pull the "told you so" card when ya'll are freezing to death.
Had to hit the spa after work, so cold the hardware in my ankle got cold, oww. Hot jets made it all better. One more day to go with this shit.
Fake?
I can’t soeak to that pic, but these last few storms were particularly windy. I’ve never had that much snow, but I’ve had friends an hour away send me pics like that. I had a friend off the lake in Erie send me a pic a few years ago where he had a legit five feet everywhere, so with the drifts, that’s certainly possible.
seriously considering bailing on the north east. we've had 2 polar vortexes basically within 2 weeks of each other. its expensive and disruptive and its only going to get worse as more energy gathers in the weather systems.
Would love to experience a downfall like that. Snow always made me giddy for some reason. Just yesterday we had our biggest snowfall of the winter (2-inches) and was straight out the door for a nice walk.
Today though its turned into uneven ice and is hazardous as fuck.
