So, today I had a day trip to Chernobyl:
It's just as mad as you'd expect. All these pictures are from the exclusion zone.

I highly reccomend you visit this place. Full of history, science and just classic disaster porn.

What is the process of visiting? Is it a tourist thing? Were there many other people looking around? Giftshop?
You have to go with an accredited tour guide - yes it is a tourist thing. It's very easy to do. My group had 8 people and I saw only one other group the whole day. It was -15 celcius all day (5 farenheit) so not the best day for foreign visitors and I imagine its much busier in summer.Quote:
