I'm not in favor of this as I believe it's time to move on from this shameful stain on our nation.
The opportunity to deal with these traitors and slave holders in the manner that they deserved was lost right after the war.
I consider the Confederate Army to be on par with the Taliban and ISIS. Americans who display Confederate flags should be ashamed of themselves.
I would have hung all Confederate Army officers, slave catchers, large slave owners, soldiers who guarded Union POWs, and Confederacy officials.
All Confederate soldiers should have lost the right to vote for life.
All slave owners land should have been seized and redistributed to to former slaves and some landless whites.
Reconstruction should have lasted 50 years and readmission to statehood should only have been granted as long as de jure segregation was prohibited and voting rights were respected. The Federal government needed to come down hard on human rights violations in these readmitted states.
