It doesn’t. Martingaling your bet only multiples the amount in which you are betting, therefore increasing the amount you are betting against the house edge. A progressive betting system will not change the ultimate outcome or make it +EV for you.
People have been using the Martingale in casino games for hundreds of years unsuccessfully.
The Martingale can appear to work since you will usually have several small wins and then a huge loss at some point that will exceed all your small wins combined and then some. Bottom line is Roulette has a 5.26% edge. Every dollar you put into action is subject to this edge. You will not win money long term playing Roulette.
“Systems” for gambling are fine if you are doing them ONLY for FUN. Unless you have some sort of legitimate “AP” involved with the system, your just blowing your money on a losing proposition.
