Viffer versus (Covid-suffering) Shaun Deeb
-
If you say this is hard to follow, you're right.
Here's what I can gather:
Shaun Deeb thinks Viffer (David Peat) owes him $32k.
Viffer thinks he does not owe $32k, and that Deeb is wrong about the whole thing.
Viffer offered a weird bet to Deeb that they would wager additional money on what a third party would decide regarding who is right and wrong.
Shaun Deeb said he doesn't want this, and simply wants the money owed.
Viffer countered by saying that Deeb obviously knows he's wrong if he's not willing to bet additional money on what a neutral third party would think.
Shaun Deeb said Viffer doesn't have another $100k to bet.
Viffer offered to post the $132k to a neutral third party.
Deeb is now considering doing it, but there's disagreement as to which people will arbitrate this.
Viffer offered to fight Shaun for $20k, and Shaun declined, saying, "I don't fight drug addicts".
Viffer posted a brag photo of his family, most notably his attractive wife, claiming, "I already won."

I’ve listened to one entire Joey Ingram podcast. It was his interview of viffer. It is a must listen. I even went back six months later and listened to it again. Guy was crazy as fuck. He’s has had quite a life already.

Shaun Deeb is a nasty fat asshole, who owns a restaurant in New York that serves fried food, if he truly has the coronavirus he is fucked.
Nice double, no triple chin.
If he survives the coronavirus, he still will be a fat fuck.

At least that Adam Schwartz is in the same boat with me on this one.

Viffer fucks hookers.
He probably has chlamydia, gonorrhea and/or HIV/AIDS.

Viffer has been married for several years, so I think the hooker fucking days are behind him.

Peat used to hustle pool halls on the west side of Cleveland back in the day. He was actually a solid player back then. Supposedly he had a likeable personality (probably helped him get games). I think everyone referred to him as Dippy Dave.

Dude has clearly blown at least one guy.
What is JRBs take on this mess?

Wow, good find. I don't think many people in poker know about his "Dippy Dave" days. Not that it's anything to be ashamed of, but it seems he just doesn't talk about it.
Back when me and neverwin were winning a bunch of money in the big limit holdem games on Pokerstars, Viffer was an unknown who would sit at $100/$200 limit, but never play. Every time he would show up, I would type something like, "What a shock... Viffer's sitting out!"
When I was in the late stages of the 2005 $3k Limit Holdem event at the WSOP, which I eventually won, a guy sat down at an empty seat at the table next to me. He asked, "Can I sit out here?" It was Viffer. That was the first time I ever met him in person.
However, after his success at the NL cash games, he got a bit obnoxious, always bugging me or neverwin to sit in the $25-$50 NL game when we'd walk by. Both of us would respond that he could come over to our limit game.
Never had any real issue with him though. The above stuff was just joking around.

Was viffer's Stars name also viffer? I have a memory of a player called that with a young black child as an avatar who was playing a ton of low stakes limit holdem (2/4 and 3/6) back in the early days of Stars around 2001 or 2002.
