Ric Ocasek -- the frontman and lead singer of the rock band The Cars -- has died.
Police say Ocasek was discovered unresponsive Sunday at his townhouse in NYC, and was pronounced dead at the scene -- according to an NYPD spokesperson. It's unclear for now how he might've died. He was reportedly found in his bed by his estranged wife.

One of those deaths you really can’t feel all that bad about. Dude was 75, and possibly one of the ugliest dudes in the world who married one of the hottest women alive when she was like 23. Rockstars man. Liked the Cars. He had a great run. I remember reading an article about him. He banged around Ohio for a good long time before becoming successful. Was 40ish when he had all those hits in the 80s. RIP my man.
He moved to the Cleveland area when he was a teenager. Graduated from Maple Heights.Quote:

A little surprised an autopsy was done this quickly but maybe the medical examiners/coroners in NY don't fuck around like they seem to in the rest of the country.
The Cars’ first album introduced millions of American suburban kids like me to New Wave. Punk had been around, but wasn’t mainstream or popular, except for the Ramones. I remember hearing My Best Friend’s Girlfriend on KLOS or KMET in LA. That Saturday, I was at the mall buying The Cars and Boston. Still have both albums.
