Average daily room rate in Las Vegas reaches all-time high

Summary: The average daily room rate — the average amount resort guests pay for a night in a hotel — rose 3.7 percent to $150.21 in January, the highest monthly average compiled by Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority researchers. The LVCVA reported Tuesday that the rate topped the previous high of $146.53 recorded in April 2007.

Personal Experience: I started looking for a room during the WSOP for 2-3 weeks in June and a lot of the rates you find on sites like Kayak or Trivago have a resort fee equal to about 1/3 of the posted rate. Dumps advertising a $45/nt rate want a $15/nt resort fee, and better properties charging $120/nt mid-week want a $40/nt resort fee. It's getting cost prohibitive. Nothing like the old days.
