What is occurring now is not a shock or an unexpected turn of events. This is exactly what most people predicted when Biden said we were abruptly withdrawing. That's why his own intelligence people were saying that he was going about it the wrong way.
There were many ways to make an orderly, safe wtihdrawal, even if it meant temporarily bringing in MORE troops to make sure the withdrawal went smoothly. Historically foreign policy barely affects elections unless there is a real crisis where Americans are dying or potentially dying. And it has to be serious.
