In a previous post I wrote about how terrible downtown has become and why I wouldn’t stay or go down there anymore.
2 of our group was waiting for an Uber on Fremont strip. Directly in front of the Walgreens front door, when a Dodge Charger pulls up, two guys with guns jump out stuff them in our friends face and steal their purse and phones. They spent all night in the police station filling out reports and shit. Watch yourself if your downtown it’s a terrible areas.
It's been a shit area for a long time. Glad the center of Vegas action moved away from there in the 90s.
Vince Burgio (old school poker player) once told a funny story about getting out of being mugged downtown. He had walked out of Binion's with thousands of dollars on him, and was headed down the street in the middle of the night, when three really shady looking dudes appeared out of nowhere and surrounded him. One of them opened with, 'What's up, man?" and he could just feel there was about to be trouble, especially given the time of night and the fact that nobody was around.
Thinking quickly, he yelled, "Leave me alone! I just lost $25 in there! I can't believe it!"
The guys rapidly backed off, thinking he was some pauper who blew his last $25, and wasn't worth mugging.
I heard about that story, it’s genius. I will always remember it in case I need to use it. These casino machines not paying change is such a fucking scam.
My friends phone turned off in a Beverly Hills pawn shop. I don’t know if the police are even gonna pursue the person that sold them. Crazy
Metro probably has some jaywalkers to arrest or more tourists to harass.. Theres a reason the saying come for vacation leave on probation exists in LV.. They pick the easy fruit to show they're cracking down on crime meanwhile dont truly give a shit.Quote:
