Black host Audie Cornish, who has been there a long time, has resigned from NPR. They've lost a lot of hosts lately from "marginalized" groups.

Now everyone is freaking out, because the left is just starting to realize that NPR is basically Smug White Educated Liberal Radio, and their programming isn't at all directed to the people of color within the party (or even working-class white liberals). Newsflash: all major media is aimed at whites pretty much regardless of political orientation.

I certainly enjoy listening to conservative media that is aimed at blacks.

All these 'marginalized' people are just leaving NPR for better jobs. It is that simple. If you aren't white, have some modicum of talent, and are wiling to play the racial grievance game, it is very easy to find corporations run by rich, smug white liberals who will throw money at you mainly to show off their progressive bonafides and make themselves feel better.

Anybody who has ever listened to NPR for more than 10 minutes can guess it’s target audience. I personally find NPR nauseating, but enjoy the PBS News Hour. It’s only natural. Who do you think donates to public broadcasting?

Chaps is right though. The hosts described as marginalized on NPR aren't really marginalized, hence the quotes.

It's all about white liberals ticking boxes to make themselves feel good. If Smug White Liberal Radio has a few hosts of color, you can feel like less of an elitist asshole while listening to it in your $100k electric car while driving home to your gated neighborhood.

Some neighborhoods have their front yard gated……just sayin.

I am amazed NPR is still on the radio. People don't remember, but Juan Williams former NPR host and a huge liberal (now on Fox) made a comment he gets nervous when a Muslin with a turbin walks on a plane. Even Juan who is black was fired instantly. And this was BEFORE the woke movement. The far left is going to implode the Democratic Party, just today Kamala Harris compared January 6th to 9-11, that shows you just how far off the rails they have gone. November 2022 can't get here quick enough, by all estimates there are only 50 safe Democratic House seats so Republicans will control the legislative agenda for perhaps 20 years with Gerrymandering. You could see a 70 seat advantage for the repubs, thanks Brandon!

I listen to NPR sometimes in the car some of the interviews and stories people tell are good.

No real clue what color anyone is.

Interestingly, both Fox News and MSNBC (which are generally speaking polar opposites in terms of coverage slant) are both nearly equally predominantly white:

Disclaimer: I do listen to BBC World daily, primarily because I like to hear global news, not just sensationalized news here.

You're going to laugh, but I actually like the UK Daily Mail for US news coverage, despite its sometimes tabloidish slant.

They give zero shits and get down the to details of the story, and aren't afraid to post them. When I read a US story where details are curiously missing, I go to the Daily Mail and usually find the rest of it.

The coverage does slant right somewhat, but not anywhere to the degree of Fox News (or the left equivalent of the other US mainstream media).

BBC is aired on my NPR radio station late at night.
