Anniversary of the Taman Shud Case, a strange unsolved death

December 1 was the 62nd Anniversary of the Taman Shud case, one of the strangest unsolved deaths ever. Man found dead on beach, cause of death not certain but probably poisoning, may have been a spy due to some evidence of attempts to conceal his identity and movements and the discovery of a code on a scrap of paper in his pocket, but also may have committed suicide over unrequited love. Grave visited periodically by unknown persons even to this day. Inspired a Stephen King novel.

Just read most of that page. Interesting, but doubt it will ever be solved given the passage of so much time.

I love mysteries such as this and read in depth about this (among many others) on abovetopsecret.com, a website that has a lot of trolls but also quality information if you can read between the mess.

I seem to remember the conclusion was this case was some sort of weird love triangle where a nurse cheated on her husband. Seems pretty basic except the scrap of paper hidden in a secret pocket in this guys coat that was ripped out of a poetry book. They actually found the exact book this guy ripped this page out and it had strange writing in it.

Dude also could have just been a drunk.
