Churchhill Downs buying Chasers poker Room in NH

Chasers Poker Room and Casino, a 35 hour drive north of Boston in neighboring NH, was bought by Churchill Downs for $150 million.

Chasers has done fairly well and has benefitted from the paring back of poker hours and games by Boston's Encore since the pandemic.

My guess? They also wanna put a sports book and/or kiosks there.

I heard some talking head suggest that Massachusetts sports wagering will destroy NH’s biz to the point they may just shut down.

NH is a suburb of Boston and anyone seeking to bet will just do so in Mass. Whatever is left won’t be worthwhile.


$150m for a poker room is a beautiful chunk of change.
