Do any of you have HBO Go?
How does that work? Is it basically 100% on demand like netflix? Give me the rundown.

I use couchtuner.eu to stream anything/everything for free and those are my thoughts on this subject.
Not my cup of tea, streaming from randos.
I realized that one thing Id be losing if I went HBO Go was the ability to Tivo shit, at least without setting some sort of home spun video capture shit which sounds like a greasy queen on the moon all said and done.
Then I realized that HBO Go is probably exactly like Netflix, eg its basically on-demand over the internet.
Then I started this thread.
That's what I do, y'see.
Ya, create a login and go to town, stream it anywhere, phone/ smart tv / apple tv etc
has all hbo series ever made and most docs and movies
Comcast has been known to block HBO Go on certain devices, so be wary of that
oh fuck me to pieces i need appletv for hbo now, which sounds like exactly the direction i want to move in otherwise.

holy shit comcast you had one job to do
Have HBO Go, love it... works on all my devices, even streaming over data. Shows will pop up directly after it originally airs.
so i could watch shit 2 hours before it airs on the west coast.
the plot thickens.
Wait what hbo east has been a thing on any cable package for like 9 years you fat goob
A real galenical insult bro
HBO Go and HBO Now are 2 separate products
wtf is hbo now
just read about hbo now, doesnt seem like it does much diff than hbogo unless u can just watch the shit live???? If that is it then wtf would anyone pay for it
so yeah like, i was actually curious about hbo now when i started this thread; hbo now is a stand-alone service that does on-demand streaming over the net. hbo go requires an hbo subscription, which requires a cable package.
i can basically cancel cable and order hbo now and get hbo over the internet.
ya makes sense if u do it that way, obv I am a sucker who pays for cable/thread
Tine are these legal?

I believe the content is the same but hbo now is a stand alone subscription. Btw I have no recollection of posting in this thread last night. Wow. Bottom set type night.
He's talking about swapping passwords for HBO go which is pretty rampant. HBO go still requires a cable subscription but if you get somebody's password, you can access the account. HBO doesn't do anything about it as far as I know. Same for the other streaming services for showtime, starz, etc.
HBO now will be available for roku PS3/4 etc soon. Apple tv has the exclusive for like a week for got premiere.
I think there is something more to it, like the delivery protocol or something, because people are acting like Comcast literally cant block HBO Now because its 100% internet based, while they were able to stomp the shit out of HBO Go subscriptions on PS4.
Honestly Im surprised its taking this long to get to the bottom of what the hell the difference is here.
You authenticate by logging in to your cable account. If you have a Cox user/pass and a Comcast connection, you can use HBO Go. If you try it with a Cox connection and Comcast credentials, you'll get shut out.
It's not Comcast blocking you from streaming, it's the HBO app denying you access because I guess they have a deal in place.
You're right. You can buy HBOnow direct from HBO. You can't buy HBOgo direct, you need cable subscription + HBO...
Comcast doesn't block everywhere. I watch on apple TV with Comcast credentials.
And, sharing passwords with 20 friends must violate TOS and therefore illegal but is def widespread. Even a NYTimes reporter wrote about sharing passwords to watch GOT not realizing it was prob illegal and punishable by year in jail...

ok now we talkin.
They could offer both products and have a clever name like H-BOGO, because then you Buy One, Get One free.
