Does anyone believe for a quarter of a microsecond that 60% of Scotland was like "Yeah.. naw... we like not being a real country, no thanks independence, we good."

Seems perfectly believable. Why do you think a government body there for the people would lie? Especially a lie that would mean rigging an election? Lol I mean if you honestly believe these kinds of things to be true and can trust no one why not just kill yourself?
Second off it was 55 percent u tinfoil hat wearing embarassment.
I don't get it.
They love the Queen mum?
Close election. Would seem the people in power would like the status quo.
Let Sonatine spin this thread into gold.
Is it that hard for you to believe that any Great Scot would want the security provided by being a United Kingdom. The thought of being a trampled on little country won the vote. The thought of a dumbed down defense system won the vote. All this vote shows you is how scared people are of getting murked.
Security frommmmm...?
actually one thing i found interesting was that when they started to show footage of the 'no' voters weeping after the 'yes' vote declared defeat, it was mostly young gay men doing the joyful weeping.
so the case could be made i guess that UK influence kept the right wing religious wackos in check.
however... of course... a DIFFERENT group of right wing religious wackos were out in force to celebrate the no vote.. sooooo...?
I'm not going to fucking argue with a guy that feels election tampering is going on. You are obviously fucking retarded. So in your whacked out mind the queen conspired with officials to make this happen? Do you know how many people would have to be in on something that big? You are fucking dillusional and need to get your prescriptions filled.
55% of people thought they would be better off financially from staying in the uk than going independent, mainly folks who are getting or about to get a uk state pension or middle class folks who saw themselves having to pay more to fund an ever growing underclass with expensive heroin, tramadol and deep fried mars bars habits.
I've been to Glasgow and it's a shithole. Scottish people are meh and their culture is overrated. I liked Ireland and its people to a much greater extent.
U didn't make this thread without knowing the talking points of 'Better Together' did you? They won the vote to stay United. Believe it or not but safety and money were the main issues.
My family didn't want independence so Scotland voted to stay. Really pretty simple.
Scotland wants their people to worship an old hag for the rest of their lives.

In related news Roy Nelson just got KTFO in round 2 by Mark Hunt in Japan.
The pro-Scottish independence (“Yes”) supporters centred on three main themes.
First is the Scots’ dislike of being ruled from London and a London-based government. The fear is that too many of the decisions that affect Scots are made from a parliament too far away and too centred on financial services, property values and “the City”. This is compounded somewhat when the UK returns a Conservative (Tory) government when there are virtually no Scottish Conservative MPs*.
The second is “we have lots of money from North Sea oil, so we’ll be alright”.
The third is “we hate the fucking English, just fuck off and leave us alone”.
The pro-unionist (“No”) side was a simpler argument, vote No for certainty, or Yes for a total unknown future with an unknown economy, unknown relationship with the rest of the UK and EU, unknown currency, unknown security and defence. And they threw in a massive bribe at the 11th hour to give more powers and money to Scotland.
So, unless you really hated the English, the safer bet was to vote No. No conspiracy - if anything the vote was rigged towards Yes with pretty nasty hate campaign run by Yes side to intimidate voters.
* In fact the Conservatives have 16% of the Scottish vote, only 3% behind and the SNP share of 19%, but only have 1 MP due to the first past the post system (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_Un...ts_in_Scotland)
Bet OP thinks that the GMO California labeling initiative was rigged as well. Lol. Just because polls showed it leading 65-35 doesn't mean it always wins idiots.
So wait, there is a big conspiracy and bgc is saying that it is false?
I thought the oil was projected to last for 30ish years? What then? Probably a smart move to stay on the Brits tit.

Wonder if America will ever give Canada the vote?
Think the "No" vote was massively helped by the biased BBC and Sky News...They went into huge overdrive after the "Yes" Campaign dragged it back in the polls.
The misinformation used by all sides during UK elections is scandalous at times.... But that's just a standard tactic used everywhere I think.
What would bother me is - if campaigns were open to receive unlimited funds from big businesses. That's just ridiculously wrong on so many levels.
Also politicians pandering to religious nuts. Madness, and glad we don't have that problem.
Even the Bank of Scotland said they would move their headquarters to England. The same thing happened during the Quebec vote. All the big corporations and money would move from the newly independent country. That's why Texas separatists are lol.
