Tucked behind the women’s residence halls in a back corner of Huston-Tillotson University’s campus in Austin, Texas, sits a green dumpster. Were it not for the sliding pitched roof and weather station perched on top, a reasonable person might dismiss the box as “just another dumpster”—providing this person did not encounter the dean of the University College Jeff Wilson living inside....

I'd say good luck bringing a chick back to his dumpster home but this guy clearly loves the D.

I suppose the benefit would be that you wouldn't need an enormous TV in there

becoming more and more of a fan of minimalism in general

living within your means...not to excess

love the Alaska survival shows where people are completely self sufficient...hunting for their own food. bartering with neighbors for goods

seems like a much more rewarding lifestyle

as opposed to constantly chasing a buck and neck deep in the rat race

with druffs 60k bmw parked in front. it wont take you long to figure out how that car was paid for.already druff owns a nice cabin 45 minutes from vegas i bet druff could live like a king off 8k a year. this is meant to be a compliment. as often as he plays its a wonder he dont live thier. i bet its peacefull there.with druffs seven star rateing he could stay fri sat and sunday for free meals included.

I agree about living within your means. However most people that say this are dead broke and can't afford a $100 a month apt. When people start making these kinda of comments they tend to be losers that would die within minutes of trying to survive in Alaska.

I was at a bar downtown last night and there was a "minimalist" outside begging for spare change.

I believe in living within my means without excess, too. I'm just glad that my means allows me to live in a crime free area, with creature comforts, surrounded by people that speak English. I liked a little adventure between the ages of 18-25, but I couldn't live like Tyde does anymore. More power to you if you can.

If you're a minimalist move to Haiti. I know some nice guys down there you could barter with for goods.

Thank you for letting us know in your thread title that this guy was living simply in a dumpster. If you would have said "Living in a Dumpster" I may have been confused into believing he was living extravagantly.
