No love for Ba Nguyen??????
Negative.
Okamoto has been very aggressive. She bluffed off 4 million in one pot and got unlucky in a couple others. Still 2nd in chips with 4 left. But she is winning in other ways.
Pics or GTFO!
Is that Shaun Deeb to her right?
2nd place for $118,768.
I don't know what this is saying, but it appears to be important.
Down to heads up. Kerstetter 15.3M, Okamoto 9.5M. First is 172k.
Okamoto wins it. Impressive.
:to
A lot of excited commentary about Okamoto on 2+2 and elsewhere. Nothing here...
Shiina Okamoto is back. She is 3rd in chips in the Ladies Event after day 1. She won the event last year and was 2nd the year before. This year there are 1368 entries in the Ladies Event. Plus, she is cute:
How is she doing in the 2025 events?

Maria Ho has cashes through April, but no cashes at the current WSOP.
On X, she posted on June 24th that she wasn't at the WSOP yet and didn't miss it. Maybe she is going to come to Vegas closer to the main event, in an effort to try and avoid WSOP burnout.
Reality star Trishelle Cannatella cashed in this years Ladies Event (200th for $2101). She was most recently on The Traitors, which she won. Earlier in her career she was on MTV's The Real World and The Challenge.
Shiina Okamoto is 3rd in chips with 33 left (1368 starters). Recent eliminations include Barbara Enright (34th) and Farah Galfond (39th).
Other notable players still in the field are J.J. Liu (8th) and Robbi Jade Lew (31st).
Quite an impressive 3 year run for Okamoto (2nd, 1st and ?)
She can clearly play well, no doubt about that. Anyone know how old she is?
Dont know her age. 32?
She is currently the chip leader at the final table.
That's really amazing. These are fairly big fields.
Like I said about The Grinder at the PPC in the other thread, she must have a style which works really well against the typical ladies event opponent (including the good players).
Interestingly, while she's done decently in Asian tournaments, she has apparently struggled at non-Ladies events at the WSOP since she started playing in 2021. Maybe it's variance, or maybe her style doesn't work well against general field WSOP opponents.

Okamato was fun to watch. A class act all the way. She is big time now--Hellmuth came over to congratulate her.
