Poker Twitter is claiming that Eric Persson didn't like being trolled and had a player removed from the Hustler Casino Live game. Eric wasn't even in the game.
at this point, any 'controversy' that happens on hustler casino live cannot be taken seriously.
its all manufactured drama from well-known real estate scammer nick vertucci and his team of shady degenerates.
Batman BACK

I don't know if this was staged or not. I guess Batman and Persson appeared on Nick Vertucci's show to each give their side.
On a side note, I am guessing that Persson does roids.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72xRu9IzObw
Go to 22:13 to hear Vertucci confirm that he booted Batman at Persson's request. Bad precedent.
Eric's explanation starts at 0:54
So I watched some of this trainwreck show.
Persson is claiming that he wasn't mad about Batman's gag about the Persson tip jar, but rather was angry that when he talked trash back via the chat room, and paid $100 to have it appear prominently via "Super Chat" (on YouTube), he found his messages removed by Hustler Casino Live mods.
So he says his issue was with Ryan Feldman, but claimed he already resolved it, as Ryan claimed it was done by an unknown chat mod, and it won't happen again.
I call bullshit. If that were the case, he wouldn't have demanded Batman being off the stream, but rather just demanded they stop deleting his messages. Here it appears he demanded both.
He also seems super pissed at Batman in general, and feels Batman is manufacturing a rivalry with him in order to build up his own name. This is probably true, but that's what happens when you're one of the better known players on the stream. Nobody is forcing Eric to play on these streams and get all this publicity.
Overall Eric is coming off as a whiner and a crybaby. Who cares if Batman wants to do these stupid gags about him? Just let it happen and ignore it, if you don't want to play along. I was neutral on him coming into this whole thing, but my opinion has declined after this incident.
It is really ironic when a bully gets bullied and cries foul.
This reminds me of the issues awhile ago with Hellmuth and that older dude who would bring props to the table including baby rattles for Phil. Eventually Phil just went with it. What’s funny is if you look at pics of Persson from a few yrs ago till now it’s clear he’s decided to reinvent himself as some middle aged ripoff of Dentale.
:this
Persson came into most people's consciousness when he was super obnoxious with Hellmuith during a PokerGo Heads Up tournament, and rattled Phil to the point where Phil was asking the floor to intervene. Many people felt satisfaction watching this, as Hellmuth has been known for over 30 years to be an asshole to people at the table, and finally he was getting a taste of his own medicine (and losing in the game, too!)
Persson has since catapulted off of that notoriety by appearing on these streams, basically playing the role of the brash, muscular, in-your-face successful businessman who takes no shit from anyone. That's fine, but if people are going to clown on you back, that's part of the game, and you can't flip out when it happens. You also can't get mad because others attempt to troll you on the stream in order to get noticed themselves.
In this case, Persson wasn't even there, so who cares? Let Batman talk his shit, and then you can either ignore it or you can respond next time you're on the stream with him.
During his appearance on Vertucci's show, Persson actually uttered a Will Smith style "keep my name out of your fucking mouth", and wasn't even being ironic. Talk about taking yourself too seriously.
Oh, does anyone know the relationship between that rich Keating guy and Persson? It was implied during Nick's show that Persson was the one who brought Keating to the stream, and could potentially convince Keating to leave if he were unhappy. BTW, from what I've seen, Keating is better than he appears, and enjoys playing the role of the fish so people will give him more action. But the guy seems to have a ton of money at a fairly young age (mid-30s) and I'd love to know the story behind that.
Actually Dentale is middle-aged as well. I think he's a little older than Persson.
But speaking of that, I mentioned I thought Persson was on roids, and if he is, that might explain some of this hotheaded behavior. I believe Persson is 47, and it's not easy at that age to just suddenly build muscle out of nowhere. When I see buff-looking guys over 40, I assume it's roids if they don't otherwise seem to have the physique of someone who regularly works out.
I don’t think it’s anabolic roids. My guess is HGH and/or testosterone. He seems open and confident about his choices and the HGH/test “regimen” allows one to look in the mirror and say “I’m not on roids”.
Keating may have hit BIG with crypto. Aussie Matt Kirk did too, for like 660mm at one point, but he dusted it cuz too much gamble. I doubt Keating would make the same choices and wouldn’t risk much of his net worth in any spot, as he seems to respect what the gambling gods are capable of, if pressing way too much. Hard not to like the guy.
Funny how the Persson/Batman thing is akin to a mediocre nationally known rapper going on FB Live, scolding an aspiring rapper for clowning him in a verse just so he can get clapped back at and increase his profile.
Yes, I wrote clapped back at
just listened to the radio segment on perrson.
perrson is such a narcissistic douchebag, no wonder him and vertucci get along.
batman having to listen to a lecture about responsible gaming from that guy must have been surreal.
i hope perrson gets needled about this everytime he sits at a table.
perrson claims he wants to help batman because he thinks he has a gambling problem...
in an hcl stream perrson was doing some type of obnoxious self promotion and haralabos said something like 'how do you feel about ruining peoples lives' persson immediately responded 'wrong guy, i dont care about that'
listening to him preach to batman about gambling was so cringe inducing.
i believe this is the stream
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FqLAI3f5D4&t=37132s
while listening to eric spew his nonsense excuse for the way he acting while at the same time trying to make batman look pathetic and himself like a pillar of morality i thought to myself -
isn't this guy a business owner? he must be a complete nightmare to work for. his business must be filled with toxic leadership with constant turnover.
so i checked maverick gaming glassdoor....
much like other review sites, glassdoor has a lot of shilling. ive worked at companies where we were asked to shill to help attract more talent.
a company can respond to negative reviews, and have them removed if they are clearly disgruntled past employees.
so seeing consistent negative reviews of a company over a relatively short time frame if a HUGE red flag for anyone looking at potential employers.
its especially noticeable when multiple reviews mention the same events - something like a change in leadership or shift in company direction.
reading through the reviews its pretty clear that maverick gaming/eric purchased a bunch of small casinos in WA with no idea how to run them. reviews describe a toxic work environment with no direction, high turnover and very questionable policies regarding compensation.
perrson is as big a piece of shit as vertucci. they are so much alike.
'fake it til you make it' at its finest.
lots of words and absolutely no substance.
immediately attack others who touch on their insecurities (vertucci vs berkey when berkey exposed how awful nick's security is at hcl, eric vs batman)
its going to be so fun to watch both of these clowns fall apart in very public ways.
maybe perrson was projecting his own issues onto batman
- awful at poker
- playing with people way better than him
- very unlikeable
the only part missing are the alleged money issues that perrson tried to embarrass batman with.
wouldn't be surprised to see perrson slowly disappear from poker as he realizes how losing millions while acting like an entitled douchebag isn't great for the maverick gaming 'brand'.
This is where I saw this going. Eric was clearly pissed off and notably at Ryan. He was conspicuously absent from the next big game Hustler is having on Feb 13. Then today PokerGo comes out with this:
https://twitter.com/PokerGO/status/1...oeFHaJB0slgjMA
It’s kind of crazy that it took Eric putting together this game (which he basically admits on Twitter) for PokerGo to take their head out of their ass and stream this live. This may be a one off or a once in a while thing. Ryan I’m sure isn’t happy about it because you can tell he’s ultra competitive. But it’s pretty amazing how the dominoes fell here. I’m sure Eric insisted on this not being behind the paywall.
Hustler will remain the king. PokerGo would have to get rid of the paywall to compete and that’s just not happening. But interesting how this whole thing went down. I really think a lot of Eric’s motivation was to burn Huatler’s ass a bit. Feb 17 also has to be a Friday night. So Hustler will be streaming their high stakes game at the same time.
Vertucci made his choice. Eric made his feelings clear that if Mr Doctor Batman DJ wannabe came back he wouldnt return I honestly think this will be a bad choice on Nick's Part honestly. People would rather see EP spew 100s of Thousands at the table then the other guy in the end. EP for all his faults and shit is verbally entertaining much more then MDB and probably the best at it well beyond the word play of Kassouf (who was just flat aggrivating and I believe angle shooting most of the time with his verbal diarrhea). And of course Perrson is one of the few folks who has the apparent bankroll to rival Adelstein's ability to put money on the table. (NikAirball clearly has a big cash wad but he still deep down I dont think he has EPs kinda of FU money).
The major error HCL did was allow that tip jar and the needing from MD Batman on Max Pain Monday. It was a big error to not get clearance before hand from Eric. Sometimes you just got to swallow your pride in life and MD Batman should of been told to do so. Yes, it’s impossible to have foreseen that Eric would of taken it so badly that the whole shit show devolved into what happened. But anyone who saw the initial interaction when Eric stacked the guy, probably should of said let’s move on and keep Eric out of your mouth.
Nick & Ryan did make the decision to remove Mr DB from the show. However, on his podcast the next day it was clear Eric was not “over it”. He particularly mentioned having a problem with Feldman. So Nick did try to squash this, but I think Eric was going to stick it to Hustler one way or another regardless. He felt disrespected. It will be interesting to see the numbers of viewers that night. PokerGo is getting 100X the engagement on Twitter it typically does.
I think its interesting that once upon a time MTV was all about music videos and eventually became a formulaic teen TV Shows filled with made up drama for entertainment.
Fast forward 20 or so years
Once upon a time we had high stakes poker which was all about the poker and big stacks and eventualy became a formulaic mid 40’s Dude show about made up drama for entertainment.
So yea…
https://twitter.com/HCLPokerShow/sta...LtIjLigtC28tWw
Just caught Feldman on the pre game show. He alluded to the possibility a player leaked their announcement with PokerGo. But of course he says they are all good with PokerGo. Also, according to him the plan is for PokerGo to only stream the first 3 hours free on YouTube and then create produced shows down the line. Which is baffling and I would be extremely surprised if that plan doesn’t change. I think they are telling Ryan that’s the plan, but in the end they will stream the whole thing.
Just don’t buy them streaming live for 3 hours and then totally cutting it off and then way down the line putting up produced shows. Terrible sales model. No urgency, so no reason for people to immediately subscribe. I think they will stream it all live but PokerGo has shit bed so many times before so who knows. But if they just stop the stream while these guys are playing they will just piss everyone off.
Not to mention…
https://twitter.com/GmanPoker/status...l3Lkx7_qmL0CoA
Feldman is great at what he does. No doubt about it. But I got to say with the pregame show and the 5 plus hour streams…there’s got to be some young men watching 40 hours plus a week. It’s just not healthy and it’s just too much. There is an inherent ceiling when it comes to poker programming. I think the same with these young guys who watch a streamer every fucking day for hours. Life is going to keep moving and their going to be stuck watching others evolve. I heard mention of post game shows. Where are we going? 10 hours a day?
I guess I’m just thinking big picture. It’s just so much of a consumption of time. When you think about TV shows that lasted 10 plus seasons. They have these circular plots. The characters are developing, but slowly. The whole will they/won’t they get together shit. It’s not a movie that has set parameters. It’s going to get monotonous for Feldman because it’s consistency that’s rewarded. I would really say to both Nick & Ryan…chill out.
I do think they may be trying to grow the shit out of it so they can sell it. But it’s clear that Feldman and his contacts/skill is the most important part of the brand by far. LATB has been laughable, even after it was bought by Ballys. It’s unwatchable. It’s why PokeGo was really the only viable alternative for Eric to build his game.
This whole million dollar buyin in May…You can tell it’s a “If you announce it, they will come” Field a Dreams deal. But I just think they need to focus on what they have. There is hard ceiling and they basically have reached it. The creator game, if they get another, it will be big for a night. As for this photo shoot….next time I’m thinking a Clockwork Orange theme (Jockstrap and all).
Persson shot off almost $1 million on a single hand, getting in most of it drawing dead.

:fail2
These two have been shown as pretty chummy a few times on camera. Any chance this is all a ruse (pre-planned to give each their $ back if they get into a huge all in) for brand image building reasons?
Personally, I think not --- but it's POSSIBLE I suppose.
Weren't there rumors that Poker After Dark's wins/losses was settled for 1/10th the amounts actually won and lost after the show and that the pah-ticipants were simply playing "higher" on tv for the viewership?
Yes, I heard those Poker After Dark rumors, but they were never confirmed.
I'm not sure if Persson wants to build the image of a donk, unless he thinks it's a way to get more action on his hands in the future? But I think he already well established that he gets his money in light.
Persson is very obsessed with people admiring him and looking up to him. Very hard to believe he would knowingly play like a donk just to get people talking. But I guess it's possible.
Maybe if he and Antonius were friends, they could have had an agreement to give each other back 90% of losses incurred heads up with one another, but I just don't see Patrik doing something like that. After all, that would be a form of collusion, and if it leaked out that they did this, his longstanding great rep would be ruined.
Im sure full tilt was paying everyone’s debts through infinite loans.
Sort of a Bump…
To catch everyone up Mr Dr Batman was called a “Piece of Cheese” by Nick Vertucci a few months back and hasn’t been seen (to my knowledge) on any livestream since. Ironically, Mr Dr Batman did end up getting canceled from at least the Hustler Stream in the long run.
Eric pulled out of the Million Dollar cash game a few months back and hasn’t appeared on Hustler since. Seems he is done with them. I think he still appears on PokerGo shows but most of them have been taped a while ago.
Now Eric was supposed to start this Maverick room that was going to be a low stakes heaven. He announced on Twitter that is not happening. He says the reason will become apparent in time.
https://x.com/IAmMaverick888/status/...600267755?s=20
However, he is still promoting the Bally’s stream tonight, which to my knowledge would still be located at the Tropicana. So what used to be Live at the Bike seems to be still working with Persson to get the stream going despite Persson’s deal with the Trop falling through. Guess this will sort out eventually.
https://x.com/IAmMaverick888/status/...211666411?s=20
I watched a small snippet of this livestream a while back. It has gone off very sporadically. Thankfully Will Jaffe can once again collect a check for mailing it in. I would imagine he still keeps the commentating gig.
I was struck by the total absence of Maverick branding despite Eric being on the stream. I figured it was just LATB being cheap and keeping that awful dark setup they had in LA. But now it seems the deal with Maverick Gaming and the Trop never got done.
poker players and the entire poker community for that matter are nothing but a collective of shallow gossip whores
sewing circle of blame game look at what he did she said empty vessels
I love poker for the game and the competitive element
the gossip about this person and that person is pathetic
played live poker literally once in the last 3 months because I can’t stomach surrounding myself with degenerate losers with no vision
the entire poker community is populated by swine
The Poker “community” has more swine than the average. But I don’t know what “community” you can shine a black light on that isn’t going to have a shit ton of jizz stains in it.
But this room being rebranded Maverick Gaming in Las Vegas and this new “low stakes” heaven abruptly not happening was certainly something at least worth a bump here. Even if it’s not of interest to everyone.
Saw Perrson on some HSP recently. My guess is the two fold. He’s busy with his noodle biz he’s been expanding in Vegas and 2 the donkey keeps shooting off so much cash he’s had to reign it in a little and doesn’t have the money to start up the card room right now.
During my Washington trip, I ended up staying right next to a Maverick room for one night. This wasn't on purpose, but rather something I happened to see as I was pulling into the parking lot of the hotel (which was NOT affiliated with the room or any casino).
The place was a shithole.
The area was also semi-lousy. I was staying there one night on the way somewhere else as part of a 10-day road trip, so the area didn't matter much to me, but it seemed worse than the area of the LA rooms I frequent (and those aren't in a good area, either!)
Some of you might recall we had Batman on radio. I enjoyed having him on, and he even stuck around to co-host a little bit for other topics. He did admit that a lot of his stream personality was an act, and that indeed he was trying to get Persson to agree to start up a fake feud. At the same time, Persson WAY overreacted to Batman's antics.
Persson just doesn't seem to have much of a sense of humor. He seems to want constant respect, and can't laugh at himself. It's ironic, given that the public came to know him because he clowned Hellmuth playing heads up, and for once the amateur got the better of Phil in a battle of egos.
Also the Trop deal was so bizarre, given that the hotel is going to be closed and wrecked. Why establish a new poker room there? Never made sense.
Maybe Persson realized this. Maybe he tried to negotiate a better deal for himself once the closure was announced, and they told him to stuff it.
