In Texas it has been a big deal for a long time, then I saw the Juneteenth episode of Atlanta a couple years ago and thought...this is starting to spread....now it’s a federal holiday.

I got a corporate wide email from my CEO saying “Happy Juneteenth”. Is that what we are going for here with this? Isn’t this like a solemn Holliday for reflection or some shit.

Is a holiday appropriate for something regarding freeing the slaves but it seems they’ve pushed for referring to it as Black Independance Day as if they are trying to deflect from those racists founding fathers who declared our Independance from the UK.
