I had so many mistakes each time. Finally I got a hold of the store manager, who admitted that they were having loads of problems there, but she would put a permanent note on my account to pay attention to substitutions, and would hold a meeting about how to do things better. She thanked me for pointing out the spinach thing. "This is exactly what I needed. This is exactly what I'm going to show people as an example of what you don't do."
It actually helped. There are still a few mistakes, but it greatly improved since that conversation. I really hate the receipt they give you, though, because it's so hard to follow, and so hard to understand what a lot of those codes mean (and what you really paid for each item).
The real question is, "What are white people good at that Asian people aren't better at?"
That is where the whole "white privilege/supremacy" narrative really falls apart.
