Anyone see the trailer for his new flick?

Curious timing of this being made, right before all the Weinstein shit. Also weird considering Louis's own rumors about his life.

The cast was a group of oldies but goodies who where available and that trailer, lost interest after finding out it was his daughter...yawwwwwwn
Strike 2 for Lou
My theory is that his own PR team is pushing the "Oh people feel awkward about this movie because of Weinstein which is why its making no money and has no buzz" narrative because there was not a single even remotely humorous moment in that entire commercial.
Not.... a.... one.
I think he seriously bit off more than he could chew artistically. And I respect him and genuinely consider him a genius and I fucking love his work but this shit right here ( moves fingers in a circle at and around that commercial ) is not funny.
I'm gonna need you all to take a step back and show some respect. We're talking about the man who wrote and directed this masterpiece:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhBExhldRXQ
shit.
I'm sure it will be thoughtful and interesting, like everything he does. But I don't think I'll watch it.
Just not interested in a sexual predator's movie about his daughter being preyed on by an older man.
The allegations around CK are gross and he isn't really denying anything. His stuff just feels too personal and I don't think I can engage with it anymore.
And I was formerly as big of a fan of his as there is.
im not going to get into defending him but fwiw, the person whose name gets trotted out as his big high profile victim recently went on record and said she had no idea wtf anyone was talking about and that shes never been put in a weird position by him.
like literally the story went:
[ up and coming comedy broad ] a girl told me louis ck asked to jerk off in front of her.
< a dozen media cycles later >
[ B-list feminist dyke comedian ] LOUIS CK IS A PIG AND CORNERED UP AND COMING COMEDY BROAD AND FORCED HER TO WATCH HIM JERKING OFF
also literally i dont give a fuck about any of this, its not my business, and this is some of the funniest shit ive ever seen:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0g3q_4kZnU
also if women being like OH MY GOD A WHITE MALE ASKED ME TO DO SEX STUFF WITH HIM gets you worked up, im sure youre already strapping on body armor and loading up your black talons to clean up the mean streets of literally 90 percent of the earths populated surface where women are treated like belligerent sex toys that are one solid beating away from knowing their place.
damn helen hunt turned into the kid from mask with a tortoise neck
This just devolves quickly into a Bill Burr vs Louis CK argument and they really can't both be winners.Quote:
Where are all those old-school women you can just take your day out on?”
“When did they stop making those angels? What a luxury"
CK delves into a deeper level and reveals a darker soul. He's gone past Shit You Hate, past Shit You Fear, and often gets into Shit That Will Make You Hate Me
I guess CK has achieved that with his new film
He's more polished and introspective - his pace is slower. His body of work is larger. CK is the king. That's the answer I'm supposed to give. I'm okay with that. He just doesn't make me laugh out loud. I appreciate what he does though - just silently.
The truth prolly is that both are on the back side of the mountain tbh
Edit:
I rewatched the trailer.
Scene:
CK & therapist
"A girl that age is getting into trouble & loves her Daddy. That means you're doing nothing."
That's pretty fucking true. If your daughter doesn't hate you as a teenager you're doing it wrong.
I'm trying to give CK a chance, okay?
Looks like he is next on the chopping block:
"Louis C.K.'s film premiere abruptly cancelled amid rumor there's a bombshell report about comedian in the works"
soooo no Louie season 6?
This movie will be a cult classic in 10 years.
Holy shit I've been waiting for that chick to have a sexy role for like 10 years. It's about frickin time!
Quote:
The story opens with the story of Chicago comedy duo Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov, who accepted CK’s invitation of a nightcap at the U.S. Aspen Comedy Arts Festival in Colorado in 2002. They would be together, so the women assumed they’d be safe, the story reports. As soon as they arrived at CK’s hotel room, CK asked if he could take out his penis, which Goodman and Wolov laughed off as a joke. Then, as Goodman puts it, “And then he really did it. He proceeded to take all of his clothes off, and get completely naked, and started masturbating.”
I've had worse dates.
Oh man.... Looks like he studied the Weinstein playbook and acted on it.
Masturbating in front women is what I just heard for starters.
Better things is still incredible
Those CK masturbation rumors have been around for as long as I can remember, but I always assumed they were bullshit. It seemed like an easy rumor to start because he just looks like a schlubby pervert. Like the Richard Gere gerbil thing or Marylin Manson removing a rib to suck his own dick. They're just believable enough because of who they are.
Bad read on my part I suppose.
I think this is a pretty dramatic overstatement based on the narratives Ive read so far.
http://www.vulture.com/2017/11/louis...-timeline.html
Weinstein was a serial rapist who would destroy careers if he didnt get that pussy, that's a far cry from what I'm reading here.
That said, if you're right, mea culpa of course.
I need to interject something here, its been really grating at me.
Throughout the last several weeks, as more of these stories evolve, I feel less and less sympathetic for the [female] victims.
You decide to come forward because of a social media trend?
Deciding to come forward in droves is not brave nor courageous. It is weak, resentful and accomplishes very little - other than destroying the credibility and public lives of both the accused and their victims. Many of these cases have expired or near expired statues of limitations. If victims don't feel a duty to speak up when this shit happens, why do we have a duty to listen and react, years later?
Rant over, carry on boys.
Also they just cancelled the premier of his movie.

Louis C.K. Crossed a Line Into Sexual Misconduct, 5 Women Say
Quote:
After being contacted for an interview this week about the on-the-record accusations of sexual misconduct — encounters that took place over a decade ago — Louis C.K.’s publicist, Lewis Kay, said the comedian would not respond. “Louis is not going to answer any questions,” Mr. Kay wrote in an email Tuesday night.
Neither Louis C.K. nor Mr. Kay replied to follow-up emails in which the accusations were laid out in detail, or to voice messages or texts. On Thursday, the premiere of Louis C.K.’s new movie “I Love You, Daddy,” was abruptly canceled, and he also canceled an appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”
This is just me responding. I would never discourage victims from coming forward.
Its just not a good look - for anyone involved, including those representing either side. Its difficult to empathize and with the many victims of many cases, who just suddenly are finding their voices.
Hopefully, this is a lesson to all future victims (a reality) to come forward immediately.
I may regret saying this, however, if I am being honest here - I hope these sexual misconduct cases don't turn into this generation's version of Liebeck vs. McDonald's or similar litigious cases. We are a sue happy culture, as it is.
On a more uplifting note, Roy Moore going down today is just delightful.
You don't have to feel sympathetic for these victims. I doubt any of them feel like victims. It seems those who had to witness CK the jerk just laughed it off. When it's evident this has happened not just to you then it is time to pipe up. One person's story can be explained away much easier than several.
I recall watching a L CK stand up years ago where he disgust masturbating and the feeling of guilty afterward.... he seems to have an obsession which only confirms the assaults.
I really wanted to see this movie. Louis CK is a great comedian and it sucks his career is gone now
Found it... 2007 I think or there about.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfkG_0hyIoc
Maybe I worded that poorly. I was just saying he did something that seemed to be a play out of the Weinstein playbook, not that he is on that level by any means.
And I doubt this kills his career. If this ends up being just jerking off in front of women he'll be able to spin it over time and run with that as part of his act. I'm sure some of the many comedic actresses he's worked with will eventually come to his defense... As long as he didn't jerk off in front of them without permission of course.
