seriously you guys
It's true, it's that good.
Eleven is god.
It's good so far. Only on ep 4 or 5. That little shoplifter is a pretty good actress.
really good watch for kids
read somewhere that netflix is going to release the soundtrack
GUYS SERIOUSLY WTF HOW DID SOMETHING THIS GOOD GET MADE
anyone whose ever seen the hummers with the .50 cal full autos mounted on them convoying through vegas at night understands exactly how remarkably perfect having the Department of Energy be the center of this thing is.
as much as i fucking hate child actors, im giving credit where its due here.
every fucking sound in my house is making me leap out of my goddamned skin
Can we talk about Mathew Modein's hair still being perfect?
reviews everywhere are pretty damn good
Just started watching; I would have started a couple of hours ago but Netflix was down for the longest period ive ever seen.
A+
I ripped thru 4 episodes the past few days, was so good when I left off before bed last night so I just skipped to the wiki cliff notes to see wtf happened after episode 4. Should have just ripped in 8 episodes in a row but time has been lacking
Will finish the final 4 though
Reminds me of a freaks and geeks meets ET. Only two episodes in. First episode was great, second did not quite keep pace but still good overall.
i snapped off all 8 last night after getting hooked on the first 3 eps. the acting and character development was fucking top notch.
im still not sure how i feel about the finale. it tied things up and set up an obv season 2 nicely, but something just felt slightly off and i couldnt put my finger on it. kinda chalking it up to being a zombie by the time i started episode 8 and ready to see things wrap up.
STEVE IS GOD and would be going to bat FOR TRUMP in TYDES thread/thread
yeah, any issues i had with the finale were just being a tv show nit.
as high as they set the bar with the first half of the season it was going to be nearly impossible for them to meet expectations, and i was ok with that as long as they didnt have a major fuck up that could impact future seasons. they really knocked it out of the park.
OMG what a beating
season 2 is signed apparently.
duffer brothers literally have a 30 page spec just on the shadowland alone locked and loaded.
oh and its totally a sequel.
Rofl, not sure you realize this but YOU ARE EASILY THE MOST OBSESSED person with TYDE ON THIS FORUM or are very close to the top.
If i had to put in an educated guess your ratio of posts about TYDE or responding to TYDE compared to anything else you post about has to be staggeringly high.
I mean i predicted EARLY in the trump thread it was going to be one of the GOAT THREADZ ANd you hopped on my nuts about it because you hate TYDE. But guess what??? I was right. TYDES TRUMP THREAD IS GOD
So now i mention his hof thread months later and your back here again mentioning a story That is almost 10 years old that you weren't even there for and has nothing to do with you but you have obsessively mentioned how many times this year?
Tyde is banned but he can probably get pms via email or im sure u can add him on facebook. . Hit him up because it seems you miss him
Tyde is god
Tydes threads are god/thread
maybe the most Stephen King-est thing I've ever seen, in a very good way. only on the 2nd episode.
since we're all on the nit bandwagon, only quibble is people making way too much noise when they are trying to be quiet.
looked up El's imdb bio. girl's got the goods, and people knew it immed.

Millie Brown was born in Spain, to British parents. They moved to Orlando, Florida in 2011, where Millie went to acting workshops to pass the time on a Saturday, and it was there that a top Hollywood talent scout called and told Millie's parents that "she has instincts you cannot teach." She advised Millie's parents that Millie could "mix it with the best kids in Hollywood." They packed up and drove from Orlando to Los Angeles, and within a week, Millie was meeting with the town's top children's talent agencies. She was offered representation by all the agents that she met. Within three months of being in Hollywood, Millie was offered the role of young Alice in ABC's Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. In November 2013, after just one self-taped audition, and without meeting the producers/directors, Millie was offered the role of Madison O'Donnell in BBC America's show, "Intruders."

oh my god this is awful.
I like it, but the fact we are all having an orgasm betrays the lack of quality supernatural TV-tail with english speaking actors. Never before has such numbered mediocrity been so highly exalted. I am chief among sinners, and it's pretty fucking pathetic.
Highly recommend Les Revenants (also on Netflix) for out of this world supernatural, creepy kid-stuff done perfectly.
I think the show is getting high praises because it's solid regardless of the supernatural creepy kid-stuff. It appeals to a broad audience without having made too many sacrifices for that popularity.
Obv good tv-shows pop up less often than they did 15 years ago and most of those that start off strong somehow turn to shit even earlier than before, but i don't think lack of good tv is the reason for the praise that Stranger Things is getting.
For my tastes it could have been faster, but i've gotten even more impatient as i've gotten older so i don't really hold their chosen tempo against the show since i'm definitely in the minority with my tastes. I need something to distract me when nothing worth mentioning is happening, since those times are still needed for character building and balance to make other stuff have an impact. Where i'm going with this is that it's rare for show to keep my interest especially when i don't particularly care about the genre.
I think to a degree, there is a good point being made by Sidewinder, eg 'give a starving man a cracker' so on. But at the end of the day, one has to judge something in terms of the elements that comprise it and how they come together as a whole, and Stranger Things definitely fucks on both points.
It's also a master class in photography, acting, character development, and the sets/props/world building was surgically on point in terms of period accuracy, which in and of itself is a stunning accomplishment and totally fucks.
And that soundtrack fucks like a motherfucker.
But Sidewinder is right; its the king of a small genre kingdom. Which makes it even more impressive to me that it came together in an industry where no one really takes chances anymore.
Season 2, please.
bunch of people mentioned the soundtrack, and a classic soundtrack makes everything better. what does it cost a show like this, tho? the one that stood out the most to me was Peter Gabriel's version of Bowie's Heroes. Shit like that don't come cheap, but how not-cheap is it? Can netflix pull off stuff like this that can't be done on broadcast because of certain rules, or did they just have a big enough budget to account for such songs?
