Maybe someone broke into the prison? Makes a ton more sense to me.
Also how are these guys like the EXACT same height? To the millimeter those pictures are identical in height
Everyone is saying "someone had to hear something". Well no, have you heard of a plasma torch? Someone outside could quite easily and quietly pulled this off. Prison plans available online I'm sure. In and out undetected quietly.

No motion activated cameras in this catwalk area is inexcusable. No contact alarm on this manhole cover is inexcusable. Easily preventable plan, except the prison officials are retarded.
Prisons are in the business of making money. That means feeding inmates at $1.12 per day and doing the bare minimum to house them.
I'm sure Sonatine can tell you how awful IT security is at many major corporations and financial institutions. That's because bean counters don't see any immediate profit or benefit from investing in it. They just wait until something goes wrong and fix it then.
This is security 101. If there are places no one should be, you easily safeguard against that. And I'm talking super inexpensive. Much less than this public relation disaster is costing them. Much less than the search is costing, much less than the reward offered.
People should be fired for this, plain and simple
If you want to talk about all the ways the US prison system should be reformed, that could take a while.
They think the tools they used could be from a construction crew that was working at the prison. If it is, somebody is in big trouble.
State prisons was one of my companies accounts. Working at on one day. Had an extra screw and tossed it in the garbage can. This guard jumped all over me, how they could use the screw and make a weapon out of it. He let me have it good.
Hated having to work in a prison. Every time I went back into lock up, had to inventory all my tools with the guards, then have them checked when I came out. Was frisked a few times before going in. Was eye balled by some of the prisoners. Made me feel really uncomfortable. It was a max security too.
Actually it doesn't appear that this particular prison is privately owned. Same principle may apply though.
haha of course I know this herbert. Why you calling me a dumbass?Replied before you edited.
and yes I assume most of the inmates are black
no I do not, most inmates are black so im assuming that most of them were black based on the fact that most inmates are black, Yeah id wanna get the fuck outta there too.
Lol, actually both a little over 5'9". That's 69 inches for all you non-Americans

Prison Break Special - How long will it take law enforcement authorities to capture either escapee from the Clinton Correctional Facility
OVER 10 DAYS -110
UNDER 10 DAYS -130
Prison Break Special - Which escapee from the Clinton Correctional Facility will be catpured first?
Richard Matt EVEN
David Sweat -110
Both captured together +500
Some great analysis on reddit by /u/whorunit

Sweat to be caught first @ -110 is a steal. He looks to be more the white trash, dumbass type. Arrested several times for selling weed and guns. Richard Matt seems like a full-blown sociopath. Likely has a high IQ and an anti-social personality. Would assume they aren't dumb enough to stay together. Matt has a "Mexico Forever" tattoo on his back -- If he gets to Mexico he's likely home free. I believe he also has friends / connects there. I expect Sweat to get picked up for DUI / banging a hooker in the parking lot of a motel. Also Sweat is from NY -- he likely doesn't have anywhere else to go, unless Matt were to let him tag along, which I don't see happening to be honest.
I fired on the under too...
http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/e...free-for-long/
they've done a helluva job staying free for this long...smart money looks like it should go to the under...
Unders better start sweating. We are now at 5 days, and if they have made it this long they are either extremely lucky or got far away quick somehow.
Last night pretty much the entire search team came to some tiny town 40 miles south of prison after reports 2 men ran into woods when spotted by car. Everyone thought they were "cornered" and it was coming to end but search turned up nothing.

Two convicted murderers on the run for five days after breaking out of prison in New York may now have fled to Vermont, investigators believe. David Sweat and Richard Matt cut their way out of prison using power tools. Police believe the men thought Vermont would be a "cooler" destination with fewer officers on their tail, said the state's governor, Peter Shumlin. Vermont officials said the north-eastern US state was working to get the "dangerous men" locked up. "Follow every lead you have", said New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, addressing some of the 450 officers involved in the search.
"Follow them as if it's the lead that's going to break the case. I am confident we are going to find them, the only question is when." The manhunt in northern New York and surrounding areas has now extended to campsites and boat slips in neighbouring Vermont. Mr Shumlin and Mr Cuomo held a joint press conference outside the maximum security prison from where the man escaped, Clinton Correctional Facility. "New York was going to be hot. Vermont would be cooler, in terms of law enforcement," Mr Shumlin said, referring to the unspecified information about the men's whereabouts.
Police confirmed on Wednesday that they had interviewed "one woman in particular" who may have befriended the inmates and had a role in their escape, but would not go into detail. That woman "may had had some role in assisting them", said New York state police superintendent Joseph D'Amico. An unnamed source told CNN earlier that woman is Joyce Mitchell, who worked at the prison tailor shop. She had planned to pick up Matt, 48 and Sweat, 34, after they escaped but changed her mind at the last minute. Ms Mitchell has not been arrested or charged, and her son has said his mother would not have helped the prisoners escape.
Matt was given a jail term of 25 years to life for beating a man to death in 1997. Sweat was serving a life sentence without parole for the murder of Broome County Sheriff's Deputy, Kevin Tarsia.
they're going to get desperate soon and do something stupid
still like the under
If those call in tips in the woods yesterday were complete bullshit these guys might have a chance
They aint getting found
They are still concentrating on areas within a few miles from the prison.
If they had help and were given a vehicle (obviously they haven't carjacked someone we would have heard about it), then they could be a lot further away.
But it's so easy to make a mistake with cell phones and video surveillance everywhere....so perhaps they are still out in a forest.
$100,000.00 reward.....they've got to fly Helmuth in.
Latest update: not one confirmed sighting yet. All the reports have been bullshit pretty much. Usually they will carjack someone, committ other crimes that get reported here and there as they teack them....but nothing. It is almost inconceivable they didn't have help lined up. The car that they were supposed to get was never there, so they walked out on foot with only a 4 hr head start.
These motherfuckers are outsmarting thousands of police so far, and every day that goes by makes it less likely they get caught anytime soon.
The one guy has a genius IQ apparently, so the cops have their work cut out for them.
looks like they've been smart not to do that stupid shit to draw attention to themselves...
curious how they are eating...wondering if they are dumpster diving...that would make the most sense given they don't appear to be doing anything that might get themselves busted (ala shoplifting)...
Do you think being homeless would work? Like you said, you wouldn't get caught crossing state lines or committing robberies. You just grow a beard and hide in plain sight. Sleep in the alley, scavenge what you can, beg if you have to. It would suck, but being homeless for a few months sure beats years of prison. You can quit doing it and make your move once the heat dies down.
If they went through all that trouble to break out, you can bet their plan on the outside was just as good.
Ya know I think they had to wing it because the lady on the inside, last minute ditched on them so maybe she left a bag of money and clothes and maybe a rendezvous point, but other than a last minute call to another person to take them out of there would be my only guess.
The first content related. The second, dumb humour done well.
