Burning Man 2025, also known as Black Rock City 2025, will take place in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada from August 24 to September 1, 2025.

Dates: August 24 - September 1, 2025.

Location: Black Rock Desert, Gerlach, Nevada.
Theme: "Tomorrow Today".
Tickets: Registration for tickets is open. There are also programs like the Ticket Aid Program for those with limited income.
Activities: Expect art installations, mutant vehicles, theme camps, performances, and various other interactive and participatory experiences.
Community: Burning Man is known for its strong community and participatory culture.
Theme Camps: Many theme camps, like Camp 3907, will offer unique experiences.
Temple: The Temple, a space for reflection and remembrance, is also being constructed.

Burning Man had a disaster two years ago, if you remember.

2023 had the unusual Hurricane Hillary in August, which was forecasted to be the first hurricane to make landfall in California in many decades. It was then forecasted to move through Las Vegas and get even worse.

However, Hillary was only a Tropical Storm when it hit land, and by the time it got to Vegas, it dissipated. The result was light rain, and Vegas breathed a sign of relief.

About two weeks later, during Labor Day weekend, there was a minor storm predicted to hit Nevada. Unlike the hurricane, this was not expected to drop significant rain, and everyone ignored it.

For whatever reason, the storm gained intense strength as it got to Nevada, and drenched the state. Vegas streets flooded badly. I-15 in Primm (40 miles south of Vegas) literally turned into a 5-foot-deep river and had to be closed on one side until it dried out.

And Burning Man, while far north of Vegas (it's east of Reno), got the brunt of the same storm. It turned the desert dirt into thick mud, stranding attendees and wreaking complete havoc. Not only didn't organizers believe such a thing could ever happen there, nobody had any warning because the storm was forecasted to be such a nothingburger.

So ironically, the once-per-century terrible hurricane hitting Nevada ended up being nothing, and the "small chance of light rain" forecasted for Labor Day ended up being a tremendous storm. Sad!

I have to admit I'll laugh if these weirdos get stranded again and the entire site turns into a weather-created mess for the 2nd time in 3 years.

The issue I have with Burning Man is that it poses as an enlightened spiritual experience, when in reality the whole thing is just an excuse to go deep into the desert, do a lot of drugs, and fuck strangers.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt's brother Dan basically got destroyed by Burning Man. He was a smart, articulate guy. I enjoyed catching up with him in the mid-2000s when he briefly became a poker fan. Unfortunately, Dan had changed since I knew him in the early 90s, and the Burning Man culture basically led him to the bad drug problem which killed him. I'm not saying Burning Man caused him to do drugs (it didn't), but it normalized the whole thing for him, to where he completely built his life around it, and that led to the eventual tragic end.

How often does Dan Bilzerian go to BM, like annually?

Side note- I have a few pair of high quality goggles, but they are really rated for sand storms. I've used fire-rated goggles in a sand storm in the Mojave desert and they pretty much failed as the desert sand gets into every open area. Kinda curious what the people there are using that works, if anything.

I hope that Jew hater Bilzerian gets sand in his eyes. If he goes at all, which he might not.

I like how he lists himself as 5'9". Clearly you can see he's shorter than that in the picture. Guys who are 5'7" tend to say they are 5'9".

In fact, I wonder if his obsession with guns and steroids was due to this height. I've known short dudes who abuse roids and/or obsess with working out as a form of compensation. He definitely has a lot of psychological issues, perhaps stemming from his fucked up dad.

Christopher Mitchell (who is probably 5'5) is another example of a short guy who often abused roids, but that may have stemmed more from his closet homosexuality than his height.

Sonatine is the only guy who couldn’t get laid at Burning Man.

I doubt that Dan Bilzerian goes to Burning Man every year.

If you go once, that's enough. Why go again?

The whole Orgy Tent thing is really nasty.

I don't even see how one could be turned on while fucking next to a bunch of other sweaty, unshowered hippies, on a floor full of bodily fluids from the people beforehand. And the smell... I can only imagine.

Even those who normally enjoy group sex should be grossed out by this.

Knew nothing about this tent until yesterday even though I knew a lot of deviant stuff goes on at BM.

Anyways I looked it up and on Reddit and there are threads dedicated to it. Including the best ways to prep for it with the dust. Complete with ways to keep all the dust out of your VJ and what to take afterwards to avoid yeast infections.

Appears there are different areas for couples that just want to publicly fuck and other areas for those inviting others to join in.
