Mary Lou Retton Darling of the LA Olympics on donkdown warning

Reported by her daughter is in ICU on a ventilator with severe bilateral Pneumonia. (Sounds pretty similar to what happened to me with Covid in 3/21). Anyway much like I was at the time it’s looking bad for her. She’s mid 50s so that’s going against her. No word on how she got so sick no mention of Covid but guess she didn’t get that Prevnar shot.

Going to sound weird given all the stories of these things going sideways but expect a GoFundMe for Retton. She has no medical insurance. So her bills have to be astronomical. Mine were well over 200k for my 10days in the ICU and close to a 1/2M when all was said and done for my near month stay prior to insurance which still paid almost 1/2 that and pretty sure the rest of it went to the Feds in DC since they were providing a lot of gap coverage between billing and insurance payments.

Is she vaxxed? That would explain it.

How does someone who made millions in endorsement deals in the 80s and public speaking in the 90s not have health insurance?

Not only did she apparently not handle the money very well, but why isn't she still on the public speaking circuit? She could still command a pretty good fee for appearances and speeches, especially because a lot of today's upper management was part of her generation when she won the Olympics.

Not sure where your buying insurance. I know gainfully employed people paying $300 a paycheck through their employer so around $600 a month for their portion as an employee if they had to pay Cobra due to seperation voluntary or forced, it would be like 2-3x that.

It truly is idiotic she did not have insurance, and that people are actually funding her idiocy. I know for a 100% fact these ex-Olympians can make bank on the speaking circuit. About 15 years ago I was at a conference where Mike Eurozione was a keynote speaker. He gave a fairly average speech talking about the 1980 Hockey Team as captain. There were about 500 people in the audience and I'd guestimate 350 had no idea who he was. I later found out he was paid $20,000 and a first class ticket and a hotel suite. Point is dea Mary-Lou has had plenty of speaking opportunities over the years, if she wanted speaking gigs she could get them. My guess is she is either lazy or has addiction issues. She is fucking creepy with that manufactured smile. Regardless, there are plenty of corporations that would pay her to give a motivational speech just to play the opening sequence on an overhead projector of her vaulting to the gold while walking on the stage waving. It's the same bullshit when Eurozione walked on stage with him scoring the game winning goal, audience ate it up even though most had no idea about the 1980 Olympics.

She also has a company called MLR Entertainment, not sure what she does with that.

Something isn’t right with her situation. Gonna be on the today show tomorrow, they did a clip, she is on oxygen and looks like shit.
