mediaite reporting this now too. i had no idea who this was, but apparently it's kind of a huge fucking deal. it would be like the germans killing general macarthur in ww2
well, looks like we're at war

thanks jews
Putin just texted Trump a picture from the hidden camera pointed at the bed Obama slept on in Moscow.
quick google search came up with this. Why am I not shocked? Israel sells dumb americans bullets so we can kill eachother in record numbers. Thanks again israel you're great friends of the american people. Hopefully one day you can start a nuclear war and get us all wiped out vs killing us slowly
Been itching to get after Iran and now got someone stupid enough(trump) to go ahead and actually do it.
assholes

persian george clooney DD! BIG NEWS
This means I buy 20 shares of lockheed martin now yes?
I get that you posted this early in the news cycle and you have a shtick reputation to uphold in here. If you can’t get behind the killing of this flaming asshole you might just have blind anger issues and not a rational hatred of #45. This is a big win for our country regardless of who is at the helm.
Now..... that’s not to say we may have opened up Pandora’s box.
Israel was going to kill Soleimani a few years ago but Obama warned him of the attack, essentially saving his life.
Soleimani was also responsible for defeating ISIS in Iraq and the region.
LULZ
What a shithole place with shithole people.
No white person should ever die for these sub-humans.
(((Oh, wait I know why)))
“just started a new war”
We are at war. Have been since 1990. Nobody gives a particular shit. Camouflage is still a fashion trend in sports etc.
So perhaps it’s schtick but folks might actually forget we are at war.
The theaters change. The players change. The reasons morph. I said just days ago you don’t get to withdraw and say your sorry.
‘Merica. Penny for Cheney’s thoughts. What is it like in Hell, Harry Truman?
4 more years? More likely 40 more years unless there is a blowoff event. I don’t make the rules
Ah, yes... for I have heard of this guy. He was very... *checks wikipedia* bad
“General Suleimani was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region,” the Pentagon said in a statement. “General Suleimani and his Quds Force were responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American and coalition service members and the wounding of thousands more”
If the above is to be believed then it’s a win. Just because there may be potential repercussions doesn’t change that fact. There is also belief (spin?) that this show of force may cause Iran to ratchet things down in the region.
Time will tell.
I'm not the only one seeing this, right?
The crazy thing about this whole situation is Schumer has supposedly said he wasn’t notified about the attack. That means the “Gang of 8” wasn’t notified. That means Trump signed off on killing or “assassinating” a member of the Iranian Govt.
That’s the most impeachable thing he’s done yet by a factor of 10, if true.
We have been at war your entire adult life. I guess you’re never too late. You should always have some defense exposure. Nice dividends & DRIPS.
Oh, wait. Let’s check the latest headlines
Lockheed, Raytheon Land Billions in End-of Year Defense Contract Spending Spree
Sonatine’s TSLA looks like it’s rolling on square wheels compared to defense this past year.
52 week (from memory)
LMT Lockheed 50%
RTN Raytheon 45%
TSLA 35%
Like The Wolf said in Pulp Fiction, “I’m a Raytheon man myself”. Your Uncle would want you to have some RTN.
Edit:
Seriously though, you should buy when we are at peace but you will never live to see that entry point.
No it's not. Id ramble on my point but its late and you're wrong even if I don't.
Ill state it simply this way...
In 230 years since written the line between the limits of a presidents ability to act has been unclear.
What is now more clear is the declaration of war, not military action.
Truman was the first to declare war before asking.
So far at LEAST 40-50+ military actions one may consider needing congress to approve have taken place since 9/11, congress did NOTHING each time.
You see, if what Trump did by ordering this MILITARY ACTION is impeachable, you have handfuls of presidents to impeach.
So cuts the leftist BS, it was a clean kill. The only issue Pelosi or Congress has with this one is Trump did it.
Goodnight folks
You don't know what you're talking about. Every significant military action of every president has been approved by Congress.
Assassinating a prominent foreign figure isn't within the president's emergency war powers. It's a law passed by Congress that 8 members of Congress have to be informed that this is going to happen. House Speaker, House Minority Leader, Majority and Minority Leaders if he Senate, and Chair and Ranking Member of both the House and Semate Intelligence Committees.
some perspective;
qassem soleimani is viewed as a hero in middle east because he was instrumental in yeeting ISIS off the map.
kinda like the kurds but more so.
yall remember the kurds right? they fought isis for us and then trump let turkey ethnic cleanse them.

he also didnt warn the iraqi PM, who has announced that trump breached a long standing agreement with him about the circumstances under which we would be allowed to keep troops there:
so we are now facing a boots on the ground hot war, in iraq, for the 4th time in my adult life, but this time we have to do it without any local allies at all except... israel.
hot take near term predictions:
more oil refineries mysteriously bursting into flames
hospitals shut down due to ransomware / malware
power grid disruptions
air travel disruptions
also expect russia to take advantage of this by violently expanding their influence into ukraine.
i don't object to trump taking action against iran if it truly was responsible for storming our embassy in iraq, but killing the #2 most powerful person in their government, which seems guaranteed fo invite similar assassinations from them in the very near future, seems like overkill.
and weird timing with the breaking news that emails confirm the DOJ basically pleaded with trump that holding back the ukraine aid was illegal.
weird, weird timing.
probably a jooincendence.
its the equivalent of killing bolton or rumsfeld at the respective peaks of their careers.
also...:
“General Suleimani was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region,”
thats called war games. every country on earth does this. what if we did this, what would happen if we did that, how would we accomplish x y z. you actively develop plans so youre ready to pivot to responses in real time.
interesting statement from Maria Zakharova, Director of the Department of Information and Press at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia:
Quote:
1. For condemning attacks on their embassies, states go to the UN Security Council with a draft presidential statement. Washington did not apply to the Security Council. So, the world reaction did not interest him. (Clarification. It turns out, it’s still more interesting. The Americans submitted a draft statement to the UN Security Council press and it is on the “default procedure” until 10 AM January 3 NY. That is, first a missile strike, and then everyone else’s opinion. Appeals on holding the meeting Sat on this issue or discussion of this topic in consultations sat in a different format to date not received)
That is, I was interested in a change in the situation in the region. By the way, over the past 5-6 years, the US has repeatedly blocked statements by the Security Council chairman condemning attacks on embassies of other countries - there are a lot of examples.
2. The key is the assessment of Iraq itself, as a state subjected to rocket fire by another state, and it is given: “Acting Prime Minister of Iraq Adel Abdel Mahdi regards an air strike at Baghdad airport, as a result of which the deputy head of the Iraqi Shiite militia was killed Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, as an act of aggression against his country "
3. In addition to the escalation of tension in the region, which will certainly hit millions of people, this will lead to nothing.
we're in good hands, guys
